Love was truly in the air this Valentine’s Day at Groveland ❤️🌹

We were delighted to be joined by our very special couples as they came together to celebrate their love and the beautiful journeys they’ve shared. The dining room was filled with smiles, laughter and so many cherished memories as everyone enjoyed a romantic dinner together. 🍽️✨
From beautifully set tables to delicious food prepared by our wonderful kitchen team, every detail helped create a warm and intimate atmosphere for our residents and their loved ones. It was so special to see hands held, stories shared and love continuing to shine so brightly.

The celebrations continued for our incredible Tom Jones as we kept the party going in style! 🎉🎂

After such a special birthday, it was only right that we gathered once again to celebrate with a wonderful evening party, surrounded by our amazing Groveland family. Residents, relatives and staff came together to make it a night full of laughter, music and unforgettable memories for our 108-year-old superstar. ❤️

We were thrilled to be joined by the fantastic Andy Mace, who kept us entertained all evening long with brilliant live music and plenty of favourites that had everyone singing along. The atmosphere was simply electric, smiles all around, dancing in seats, and Tom right at the heart of it all enjoying every moment. 🎶✨

A huge and heartfelt thank you goes to every single member of our team who made Tom’s 108th birthday so extraordinary. From our wonderful Manager and Activities Team for their thoughtful planning and organisation, to our talented Kitchen and Bistro staff who prepared such delicious treats and drinks all night long , and to all support staff who worked behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly — we couldn’t have done it without you.

Your dedication, teamwork and genuine care made the day truly magical and so special for Tom and his family💛

What an absolutely incredible day celebrating our very own Tom Jones on his 108th birthday! 🎉🎂

We kicked off the morning in true Tom style ,full of energy and determination, with a fantastic Boxercise session led by Katie. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Tom amazed us all by accomplishing 108 punches to mark his 108 wonderful years. 💪🥊

The celebrations continued into the afternoon with a beautiful afternoon tea surrounded by friends, family, residents, and staff. There was laughter, stories, and so many cherished memories shared as we honoured a truly remarkable life. The room was filled with warmth, joy, and plenty of delicious treats! 🍰☕

We were also incredibly honoured to welcome the Mayor of Bexley who joined us to celebrate this very special milestone. It meant so much to Tom and to all of us here to have the occasion recognised in such a meaningful way.

One of the most special moments of the day was when Tom proudly read aloud his special birthday card from His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla. A truly memorable highlight for a truly extraordinary gentleman. 👑✨

Tom, you are an inspiration to us all. 108 years of resilience, wisdom, humour, and kindness – what a privilege it is to celebrate with you. Here’s to a day as special as you are and to the wonderful legacy you continue to share with everyone around you. Happy 108th Birthday, Tom! 🎈❤️

Today at our home we’ve been feeling the love! ❤️💕

Our residents have been very busy getting creative with some wonderful Valentine’s Day crafts. From handmade cards and heart decorations to beautiful keepsakes for loved ones, everyone has been hard at work. The lounge has been full of laughter, creativity, and plenty of sparkle! ✂️🎨✨

It’s been so lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves, sharing stories, helping one another, and taking pride in their creations.

We can’t wait to display all of the fantastic crafts around the home and share the love with family and friends. Well done to everyone for such a busy and joyful day! 💖

We all had a fantastic trip to the lanes for a friendly (but competitive!) game of tenpin bowling — and let’s just say, there were some serious skills on display! 👏

After working up an appetite, we all tucked into some classic burgers and chips 🍔🍟 — the perfect way to celebrate a brilliant day out together.

Our residents really enjoyed learning about how Valentine’s Day has been celebrated over the years, with plenty of interesting stories and conversation along the way.

We had a lovely trip to Morley’s Café in Bexleyheath ☕🍰
Everyone enjoyed sitting down together for coffee and cake before heading out for a gentle stroll around the shops. There was lots of interest in the beautiful bags, shoes and sparkling diamonds ✨
A really enjoyable day out and lots of smiles all round.

What an incredible music night! 🎶✨
The atmosphere was amazing from start to finish, with great music, wonderful company, and so many smiles all around. It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves, singing along, and soaking up the good vibes throughout the evening.

A huge thank you to our amazing bistro staff and hardworking kitchen team for keeping everyone well fed and looked after, and to our wonderful activities team for bringing the night together so seamlessly. Your effort, energy, and dedication truly made the event a success and amazing entertainment by Andy Mace.

Thank you as well to everyone involved behind the scenes and, of course, to everyone who came along and made the night so special. Nights like these remind us what a great community we have—we can’t wait to do it all again soon! 💛🎶

✨ A truly magical afternoon to remember ✨
We were delighted to welcome Birds of Prey Owl Adventures to our home for a very special visit. Our residents were absolutely amazed as they learned all about these beautiful birds and watched them up close.

The highlight of the afternoon was the opportunity for residents to gently hold the owls — something many had never experienced before. There were smiles, laughter, and plenty of moments of wonder as everyone took in this unforgettable experience. 🦉

Creating meaningful moments like these is so important to us, and it was truly heartwarming to see the joy it brought to everyone involved. 💛

Songs and Smiles truly lives up to its name every week 🎶😊
We are so lucky to welcome this wonderful group who bring such joy to our residents through singing, dancing, and spending quality time together. The Together Project
The happiness and excitement on our residents’ faces is absolutely priceless, and there is always laughter filling every corner of the home.
The children love joining in, creating beautiful moments of connection across generations. After the singing and dancing, everyone stays on to relax together, enjoying drinks and snacks while sharing stories, smiles, and laughter.
These weekly visits remind us just how powerful music, companionship, and shared joy can be. A huge thank you to Songs and Smiles for bringing so much warmth and happiness into our home 💛

We had a fantastic time out today with a visit to Caffè Nero ☕🍰

Our residents enjoyed choosing their favourite coffees, indulging in some tasty cakes, and spending quality time together.
These little outings mean so much—creating special moments, encouraging social time, and making memories to smile about.

What a lovely day out ! 🚍✨ We travelled to London to visit the Legend of the Titanic exhibition, and it was a truly fascinating experience for everyone 🚢❄️

From immersive displays to incredible stories and artefacts, the exhibition sparked so many conversations and “wow” moments. A real highlight was the VR headset experience — residents loved being able to “step inside” the history and see the Titanic like never before. It was such a unique and exciting part of the experience 🎧🕶️
