1. Close your eyes and rest your hands over your heart.

2. Inhale gently through your nose for 4 counts - breathe in calm.

3. Hold that breath for 4 counts - let stillness settle within you.

4. Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts - release what no longer serves you.

5. Repeat for a minute, allowing your body to soften and your mind to quieten.

There's no secret that this is my favourite time of year. The crunchy leaves, the smell of bonfires, and that first proper excuse to pop the kettle on and relax under a blanket.

And, as a hypnotherapist, I often talk about how the seasons affect our well-being — and autumn is a brilliant time to slow down and reset. The cooler weather and darker evenings can help improve your sleep, and getting outside for a walk (even if it’s a bit muddy!) can really lift your mood.

It’s also a great time to enjoy the simpler pleasures - a quiet moment to yourself, a catch-up with a friend, or just a bit of fresh air and time to reflect.

Whether you’re out and about or tucked up indoors, autumn’s a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and take care of yourself.
