Hot yoga and Thai massage — two practices that changed my life in completely different ways, yet fit together so perfectly.
When I was doing my Hot 26 teacher training, I practiced twice a day for nine weeks.
Thai massage was the one thing that kept my body going.
It was the only time I could fully let go and be cared for — a reset I didn’t even know I needed.
Hot yoga is a very hands-off style of teaching, so later when I trained in Vinyasa and had to start adjusting people, I found it really hard to make that switch.
So hard, in fact, that I actually developed warts on my hands.
Looking back, I think it was my body’s way of showing the deep fear I had around touch.
Then one day, a friend of a friend was running a Thai massage workshop.
Something told me to go — to face it.
The moment I started working this way with the body, everything shifted.
It felt natural, grounding, and healing… not just for others, but for me too.
That week, my warts disappeared.
And from that moment, I knew I’d found something I wanted to dedicate myself to.
Eight years later, here I am — combining my love of hot yoga with the art of Thai massage, and now teaching the Thai Massage Foundation Course this November.
Two practices.
One purpose.
To connect deeper — with ourselves and each other.
