This little superstar won lasts weeks “Child of courage” award… and what a worthy winner she is! ☺️

This prestigious award is awarded to exceptional, inspirational children who manage to achieve, often against adversity. It is given demonstrating courage, determination all whilst maintaining a positive disposition.

Allani is only two years old and has already had to endure more than most people will in their lifetime. At just 27 weeks gestation, she underwent surgery, was returned to the womb, and born prematurely at 33 weeks. Allani had brain surgery at 12 weeks old and the doctors told parents she’d never walk, talk, or have brain function - but just look at her now 🤩

Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Allani will know how contagious her smile and spark is. Allani can talk, walk with support and has exceeded all medical expectations.

Allani… you were always a hero in our eyes, but this solidifies it even more. We feel so privileged to be able to witness your journey! 🥰

At the weekend our lovely Emma and Antonia travelled for a hydrotherapy course to further their knowledge and understanding on hydrotherapy and learn new techniques to apply to their future hydrotherapy sessions.

We are very keen on developing clinical professional development in order to deliver the best therapeutic intervention possible. 💦 💪

We cannot wait to see the knowledge and skills the girls have learnt put into practise within the pool!

We would love to officially introduce to you all Jess! Our lovely new Physiotherapy Assistant! Most of you will have seen her around clinic recently so for those of you who haven’t, here is a little bit from the lady herself…

“Hi Everyone!
I’m really excited to have started my journey as a Physiotherapy Assistant at Ability Therapies. During my time in school, I was always interested in sports and healthcare so when the role arose it seemed like a great opportunity for me to begin working in this field of work which I am passionate about.
Being part of this team allows me to be involved in each child and their families journey, seeing them challenge themselves and progress. Each day provides so many different experiences, all of them allowing me to expand my knowledge on paediatric physiotherapy alongside the amazing team here who have such a range of knowledge. As I learn more, I hope to make positive and purposeful impacts on the children I work with while making the sessions as fun as possible!”

Today is World Cerebral Palsy (CP) Day! A day where all of our amazing CP heroes should be celebrated!

All of our children and young people at Ability Therapies are stars in our eyes, but as Cerebral Palsy is the majority diagnosis for which we treat, we really want to highlight the common theme amongst the children we see a diagnosis of CP; life throws ongoing challenges to both the individual and the families/care teams, however the resilience these heroes show is nothing short of remarkable. Their bravery, determination and patience are beyond inspirational and they leave us all here at Ability Therapies feeling truly in awe.

So not only do we want to celebrate all you CP heroes, but we also want to say Thank You…

Thank you for the strength, joy, and unique perspectives you bring to the world—you inspire us to see ability, courage, and kindness in new ways every day. We feel so fortunate to be part of all of your journeys.
