Another day, another pair of Phits orthotics delivered and fitted. I’m always super excited with each pair issued as I know that we’ve been able to help another person move better and more comfortably. I can’t wait for feedback on these beauties especially as they will be undergoing a 50 mile run in April!

Flat Feet vs High Arches
Utilizing RSscan Footscan with Gait and Motion Technology we are able to clearly see the force differences through the foot in different foot types. Here you can clearly see the greater mid foot contact and forces in the flat foot, and the higher Met 1 forces in the high arch foot type.

This data gives us great indications in injury prevention and rehabilitation. All athletes and general population would benefit from knowing their individual foot types and left/right variances.

Cavus Foot.
Here’s a recent case of hereditary Cavus Foot which I screened in The Woodland Clinic and designed a pair of Phits 3D printed orthotics for.
Clearly visible is the high arch, the instability at the heel, the tendency to collapse medially, the over-hinging at the metatarsal / medial cuneiform, and the high loads through Met-1 and T-1.
The Phits 3D orthotic has been designed to offer stability through the heel, support the medial heel from collapse, support the navicular and reduce stress on plantar fascia, and reduce load and protect Met-1 and T-1.

Really keen to see how this client progresses with the new orthotics.
