The body's systems are interconnected through the nervous system, circulatory system, endocrine system, and lots of other systems that work together to perform vital functions.

Reflexology treats the body as a whole. All the parts of our body are interconnected through systems, organs, tissue and even down to tiny cells, all working together to help us function efficiently and keep us in balance.

As a reflexologist one of my jobs is to help bring your body back into its natural balanced state - homeostasis 🙏

Often during a reflexology treatment we don’t just focus on one specific area as our body is like a web and all the parts rely on so many other parts all working together in harmony. When working a system in reflexology you always need to think of its relationship to other parts/systems in the body.

Every organ, gland and area of the body can be worked on through reflexology. This incredible therapy has physiological and psychological benefits and can affect all the body systems in a positive way and contribute to improving your overall health and wellbeing.

Have you tried reflexology?

Not many people really know about Lymph and the role of the Lymphatic system. It is such an important system in our body and one I'm fascinated by.

The lymphatic system:

~ is our body's purification system
~ gives our body's the ability to defend itself
~ one of vital body systems responsible for 'physical' beauty!

Keeping the lymphatic system flowing efficiently is essential for our wellbeing.

Here are some ways we can support lymphatic circulation and keep your lymphatic system strong and healthy:

~ eat well (proper nutrition)
~ keep well hydrated
~ keep moving (physical activity)
~ respect the body's needs (rest, sleep, digestion, breathing)
~ take time to slow down and appreciate
~ focus on friendships, relationships etc)

The lymphatic system is crucial for overall wellbeing because it supports the immune system, improves circulation, maintains fluid balance, and removes waste/toxins from the body.

✨️Look after your body and overall wellbeing by supporting your lymphatic health✨️

Body scan meditation 🧘‍♀️

Why it helps ~

This wonderful mindfulness practice increases body awareness, helping us to notice tension patterns, quiet the mind and promote a relaxed parasympathetic state ✨️🙏✨️

How to do it ~

It involves scanning the body from head to toe, observing sensations without any judgement. Close your eyes and bring your awareness to each part of your body (from the head moving downward).

Body scan meditation is an important part of my reflexology treatments and really helps my clients relax and unwind and find that connection to themselves ✨️

⚠️ A bit of a long post but please read 🙏⚠️

Anyone who suffers or has suffered from back pain will know what a debilitating problem it is 😒

I see clients all the time who suffer with back pain ranging from mild to severe...but whichever end of the pain spectrum you are it is always life-limiting and generally miserable causing a disruption in our day to day lives.

Ever since the birth of my twins 11 years ago now I have suffered periodically with lower back pain which sometimes it is mild and goes away after a day of rest but sometimes it flares up and I need to turn to other interventions to relieve the pain and inflammation. I find that massage and hands on manipulation is the most successful relief and helps speed up recovery.

Painkillers are often the 'go to' short term treatment for back pain (trust me they not the solution and very limited in their effectiveness)...

More and more I hear my clients say how fed up they are at taking different pills for pain management and being given them as the only option...

There is certainly no quick fix as far as back pain goes and yes sometimes painkillers are needed but for long term recovery you really should be looking at alternatives and reflexology is an option to consider in combination with exercise/movement and other recommendations from your consultant.

Reflexology can offer natural pain management. A reflexologist works on the whole of the skeletal system and other related areas to help relieve pain and reduce inflammation. A lot of back pain is associated with tension and reflexology can help reduce tension and stress held in the body.

Remember reflexology is not a cure and reflexologists do not diagnose or prescribe...we help the body heal and restore balance through stimulating its own natural healing process.

As Dwight Byers states..."Reflexology is about bringing help and better health to our fellow humans in a natural way"

Dorsiflexion and plantar flexion are movements that occur at the ankle joint, involving flexing and extending the foot 👣

These two movements are essential for walking, running, maintaining balance and stability as well as over full functionality of your foot.

During my reflexology warm up I always incorporate these movements. I often feel resistance as people's feet can be stiff and not used to these directional movements/manipulations. But it is important to do these simple flexion movements as they help increase flexibility, improve blood flow, and enhance stability and balance.

As my followers and clients will know I love anatomy and physiology! 😉🤗

After all, reflexology is not just about pressing points; it is about understanding the connections within the human body and using that knowledge to promote health and balance ✨️🙏✨️

For there to be complete harmony in the body there needs to be harmony on the physical mental emotional and spiritual levels.

Reflexology works on all of these levels and can contribute positively towards achieving harmony in the body and, consequently, improving your overall health and wellbeing 🙏

Reflexology is not just about deep relaxation (although that feeling is magical)...

Another really important part about receiving reflexology is that it helps rebalance the nervous system, boost circulation and restore natural body flow.

It is essentially a full body reset that many people need to feel recharged, uplifted and full of energy again 🙌

You could say it is like hitting the reset button!!!

For some people when the body resets it can either go into a deep state of relaxation and rest or have a shift into renewed energy ✨️

So if you are looking to release tension, restore balance and reignite energy reflexology is definitely for you ✨️🙏✨️

Let's talk about your S P I N E ~ the life line of the body!

Did you know the feet hold the story of your spine 🦴👣

Every vertebrae - from your neck to your tailbone - is mirrored on the inner edge of your foot (the spine reflexes).

When this area is stimulated during reflexology, your entire nervous system responds.

Reflexology is not just for relaxation! (Although this is essential to allow healing to happen). Through every touch reflexology helps to:

✨️Release tension and pain along the spine ✨️Improve posture and circulation
✨️Calm the nervous system
✨️Restore balance from the ground up

This ancient practice shows us how every part of the body is connected...

Book your reflexology treatment and help tension and stress in the spine and your whole body soften and melt away 🙏
