I was super happy to get this message last week from a client who came to me at the back end of August with recurring knee and back issues. As well as being a retained firefighter and physically active, this client works as a flooring installer which requires long periods of time on his knees. It’s absolutely brilliant that we have been able to get him to a pain free and manageable point through combined methods of massage, shockwave therapy, magnetotransduction therapy, dry needling, and taping. An 8-10 week turnaround at a rate of 1 session per week is a really good response given the level of knee damage and that he had been struggling with pain and challenged mobility for over a year. We really are experiencing great successes with out STORZ MEDICAL AG Shockwave Therapy and Magnetolith devices, and w are incredibly lucky to have the only Magnetolith in the South West Region (including hospitals).

Severe Achilles Tendonitis seen for the second time yesterday. Fantastic to hear that after just one session a difference was made. When first seen the slightest touch to the Achilles presented extreme pain, range of movement restricted, and walking problematic.
Physical manipulation, ESWT fascia applicator to the calf muscles, ESWT to the Achilles affected area, EMTT to the wider area, finished off with K-taping (forgot to take picture of K-taping).
After 1 treatment client reported less pain in all situations, more ROM, and increased activity levels with only minor pain on a couple of occasions.
I would expect 6-8 sessions at a rate of 1 per week for this client given that we have immediate response to treatment.

➡️This 91 year old first came to us experiencing pain explained to us as ‘policeman’s heel’ (plantar fasciitis), which was troubling her a lot and limiting her active time in the garden. Having successfully rehabbed the plantar fasciitis with ESWT and EMTT combined treatment, the client mentioned pains she’s had for many years in her left knee. Pain presents in the patellar tendon and within the whole knee capsule itself, which at this age we can assume will likely have a good degree of OA. Treatment of the patellar tendon with ESWT and the whole knee with EMTT has proven very effective at reducing pain and increasing pain free use. We are incredibly lucky to be able to provide this non-invasive therapy having the only Magnetolith in the South West of England.

Great message to receive today from one of my running clients being treated for tendonitis in the ankle. Manual manipulation, Radial Shockwave Therapy, EMTT – Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy, and dry needling have been used during bi weekly sessions. Awesome results after just 2 weeks.

Unexplainable pain?
Every now and then we get cases of ‘unexplainable pain’, the pain can be varying and can wander. Sometimes (as in this case) a detailed Gait Analysis can help get to the root cause. We were able to remedy this ongoing situation through stretching and exercise and without the need for orthotic interventions. Happy Days.

We are Super Happy to announce that this week we took delivery of a brand spanking new STORZ MEDICAL AG Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy (EMTT®) machine, delivered and installed by Venn Healthcare Ltd. The EMTT machine will compliment and enhance our current non-invasive injury rehabilitation and pain management therapies, which already includes medical grade Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT).

The delivery of the EMTT machine compounds our constant drive in research of current and future methods in rehabilitation and pain management. Supply of the machine was only made possible by incredibly generous benefactors who have seen first hand the important continued work we have been doing with people in stroke recovery.

Being put straight to work on Friday afternoon the EMTT machine was used in ACL reconstruction rehab, osteoarthritic joint pain management, patellar tendinopathy, and on stroke spasticity.

We look forwards to helping more people to ease pain and recover well.

“The Penguins” The Penguin Sports Foundation had a super evening at the Woodland Clinic on December 11th 2022.

Hot chocolate, apple punch, mince pies and of course Penguin chocolate bars provided inner warmth on a very cold night.

We had a fantastic evening with The Penguin Sports Foundation before Christmas. We hosted an evening for the children who take part in the hydrotherapy programme at our clinic.
