🌟 Wendy’s Wish 🌟

Wendy used to swim twice a week, but it’s been over 20 years since she last got back in the water… until now! 💦✨

We were thrilled to take her back to Northam Swimming Pool, her old favourite spot. As soon as she walked in, Wendy smiled and said, “It hasn’t really changed.”

She enjoyed a wonderful half-hour swim, followed by her traditional post-swim latte — a routine she remembered with so much fondness.

Wendy told us:
“It was a wonderful experience and felt amazing to be back in the water.” 💙

Making memories and bringing joy… that’s what it’s all about. 💫

✨ A Heart-Warming Children in Need Visit! ✨

We had a truly wonderful visit from the school children this week in support of Children in Need. The home was filled with excitement, laughter, and lots of smiling faces!

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of activities with the children. Some spent time baking together — a lovely mix of sticky hands and delicious treats. Afterwards, the children read to the residents, creating a calm and cosy atmosphere that everyone loved.

These intergenerational visits are always a firm favourite. Watching the beautiful connection between the young and the old is genuinely special. Moments like these brighten our resident's days and create memories that stay with us all. 💛

A huge thank you to the wonderful children and teachers for taking the time to visit — we can’t wait to welcome you back again soon!

We’re delighted to announce that Georgie has been chosen as our Employee of the Month!

Georgie is a key member of our Housekeeping Team, and she consistently goes above and beyond in everything she does. Not only did her fellow team members vote for her, but the residents did too — a true reflection of her dedication and care.

🎉 Celebrating Eileen’s 100th Birthday! 🎉

Eileen recently celebrated her 100th birthday and wished to visit Rosemoor Garden Centre. She had an amazing time with her friends from Kenwith, and her beautiful smiles warmed everyone around her.

When asked her secret to reaching 100 and still looking fabulous, Eileen said: “Being good, having a good life, and of course, great genes.” 💖

🎃👻 Spooky Fun at Kenwithcastle! 👻🎃

Last week, our residents got their spook on! From Halloween trails to a visit to the Big Sheep, plus pumpkin carving fun — there was something for everyone!

We also enjoyed a beautiful performance by the Quartet Choir and of course, our ever-popular Knit & Natter Club kept everyone busy and creative.

🌟 Make a Wish Initiative – Another Wish Comes True at Kenwith Castle!

As part of our Make a Wish initiative, another wonderful wish has come true here at Kenwith Castle.

During a recent care review, Rosemary shared that she would love the opportunity to do pottery again. Rosemary was a talented potter before her stroke but has been unable to continue her passion since.

The team at Kenwith were delighted to make her wish come true, arranging a special pottery session with the kind support of Tarka Pottery

Rosemary had a truly wonderful afternoon. When speaking with her this morning, she told us:

“It was a magical time and extremely emotional. It reminded me just how much I enjoyed pottery. I was laughing one minute and in tears the next.”

Rosemary was deeply grateful to the whole team at Kenwith Castle and to Tarka Pottery for helping her reconnect with something she loves so much.

🎪 A Night at the Circus! 🎪

What a fantastic night we all had at the circus! The residents who attended were absolutely overjoyed — it was a truly brilliant experience for everyone involved.

There were fits of giggles all around when our Home Manager was unexpectedly called up on stage — a moment none of us will forget! Laughter, amazement, and joy filled the evening, creating memories that will last a long time.
