Hi. I’m Toni and I’m the creator and joint owner of Ruff Stuff Bodycare, but you can still find me at my wax pots twice a week!
I’ve been in the beauty industry over 25yrs and a waxing specialist for over a decade, and it was this knowledge and experience with hair removal that led me to create our OG product, the Ruff Stuff Body Scrub 🫶
As any waxer knows, as the hair gets finer over time with regular waxing, it can mean the hair isn’t strong enough to push past any dead skin or blockages in the pores so can result in ingrown hairs. I got increasingly frustrated with the lack of effective products to retail to my clients they were kind to the skin but still packed a punch! 🤛
So I set out to make my own, never dreaming for a second that they would be for anyone other than my clients, but the universe has different ideas and word spread about this amazing new product that prevents ingrowing hairs but cares for the skin and also has no hidden nasties and before I knew it, I was moving production out of my kitchen, getting my husband involved and shipping out to other salons……and the rest is history! 🥳
We now have a dedicated following of salon owners and members of the public, 8 scrubs, a body oil, bath salts and a vegan bath milk and ship internationally as well as across the UK!
I still pinch myself regularly that this is my life and these are my products and I’m so grateful to the universe for the push and to our friends and fans for their unwavering support 🫶

There are two forms of vitamin D – vitamin D2 + vitamin D3 and to remain in good health, it is important to ensure our bodies receive adequate levels of both...

Vitamin D2 is ingested from a healthy, balanced diet and can be derived from everyday foods such as: Egg yolks and fatty fish like; trout, mackerel, salmon or tuna, as well as cod liver oil, or fortified milk, juices and cereals.

Vitamin D3 however, is most efficiently produced when our skin is exposed to the sun’s UVB radiation. BUT we know that overexposure UV damages our skin cells and can lead to skin cancer, so it’s important to strike the right balance!

Environmental and personal factors can greatly affect vitamin D3 production in the skin (meaning there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ level of exposure) but for most, it can be sufficiently produced in around 10-15 minutes of UVB exposure per day - from doses below those which cause reddening of the skin or sunburn!

The problem in the winter months is that synthesis is often inadequate due to lack of UVB radiation and it’s not possible to achieve sufficient levels of vitamin D through diet alone. Therefore, the NHS recommends that we should ALL boost our supply with supplements.

Taking vitamin D supplements is safe as long as you stick to the recommended dosage as too much can cause health problems. However, if you have any health conditions, take any other medication or have allergies, it’s important to take advice from your GP first.

Most days, I feel strong. Confident. Capable.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come - in my body, in my mindset, in how I hope I’m helping other women through their fitness journey.
And then...
I scroll. I see the influencers. All at least 30 years younger than me.. Lean. Toned. Perfect smile & highlights. The 6-pack. The snatched waist. The effortless poses. So perky!
And I think…Maybe if I just worked harder. Maybe if I pushed the calorie deficit more. Maybe if I did more cardio (not going to happen).Maybe then I’d look like that.
I have body dysmorphia and acknowledge it daily.
Yep- the comparison trap gets me too. Here’s what I remind myself of (and maybe you need this today too):
Some of those women absolutely do work hard. But many are also genetically blessed- and look that way with very little effort. Even when you feel strong, confident has its off days.
“Looking good” and being healthy- both physically and mentally are not one and the same.
I’m 51, a mum to three amazing boys, a wife to an incredibly hard-working husband, business owner. I juggle the chaos of mid-life, and I spend my days with the most amazing women who are in the trenches with me.
Yes, I post pictures of me constantly, but I am not a 20-year-old influencer trying to make a living off of likes. I’m doing it to show you that if I can do it so can you.
I know you are struggling because I’ve been there and some days I still do.
I didn’t get into this to be the skinniest person in the room. I started because I was done with being in pain, I was in a place where I knew that if I was going to be there for my family going forward I needed to start looking after me, I needed to put myself first just a few times a week.
I didn’t start EMS training to help women chase the number on the scale drop.
I, and now Natalie, my amazing friend are here to help you get STRONG.
