🎄 Festive Joy at Waterloo Care Home! 🎶

This afternoon we were treated to some wonderful Christmas carols, beautifully led by Eileen Jinks, our Holy Communion priest, who joined us with her friends to bring festive cheer to everyone.

Residents and staff alike joined in with the singing — filling the home with music, laughter, and smiles. 🎵❤

A huge thank you to Eileen and her lovely group for making the afternoon so special. It truly felt like Christmas had arrived at Waterloo Care Home! 🌟

🎶 A Wonderful Afternoon of Music & Memories! 🎶

What a fantastic time we all had with Nick Golden’s Big Band Dance Sound!

Residents and team members alike were singing along to the old favourites, tapping their feet, and even getting up for a dance or two 💃🕺

Nick’s mix of singalongs, humour, and classic tunes brought so many smiles — it was truly an afternoon to remember at Waterloo Care Home! 💛

A big thank you to Nick for filling our lounge with laughter, music, and joy.

🌳💫 The Wishing Tree at Waterloo Care Home 💫🌳

At Waterloo Care Home, we believe every wish – big or small – deserves to be heard. That’s why we have our very own Wishing Tree — a lovely way for residents to share their hopes, dreams, or simple pleasures.

Here’s how it works:
✨ Residents write their wishes on a wooden heart tag
✨ The hearts are lovingly hung on our Wishing Tree by Sally
✨ Each month, one special wish is chosen and made to come true!

It could be something as heartfelt as visiting a favourite place, enjoying a long-missed treat, or meeting someone special.

Recently, Sally helped make Colleen’s wish come true with a wonderful day at the Butterfly Farm 🦋 — and her photo now proudly sits on our board under the month her dream became reality.

Our Wishing Tree is more than decoration — it’s a symbol of joy, memories, and the power of small dreams coming true within our Waterloo family. ❤

🌟 Our Star of the Day: Vaughan! 🌟

We just had to share this heart-warming moment from the Dementia Café. Vaughan has been absolutely shining during his visits — engaging, smiling, and bringing such joy to everyone around him. He truly is the star of the show, and today’s feedback reflects just how special he is. 💛

The lady who runs the Dementia Café contacted us this afternoon to say how wonderful it is to see Vaughan thriving, and how beautifully supported he is during the sessions.

She also shared a lovely compliment about Sally, who accompanies him — praising her as “amazing”, “wonderful”, and “a credit” to Waterloo Care. She was so impressed she’ll be leaving a compliment on the Care Quality Commission (CQC) website.

🌍 Team Building with a Twist! 🌍

Last week at Waterloo Care Home, our monthly team-building session took us around the world! 🗺✨

Each of us placed a pin on the world map showing where we were born and enjoyed a lovely chit-chat session — sharing fun facts, memories, and stories from our birthplaces. ❤

We talked about how long we lived there, why we moved, and what we miss most about “home”. It was such a heartwarming way to learn more about each other’s journeys, cultures, languages, and even global religions. 🌎💬

A wonderful reminder that our Waterloo family truly is a world of its own — full of diversity, stories, and shared smiles! 💛

🎉🦋 Happy Birthday Colleen! 🦋🎉

On 7th November, our lovely Colleen celebrated her 90th birthday (born in 1935!) 💐

To make it extra special, we took Colleen and her daughter on a wonderful trip to the Stratford Butterfly Farm 🦋✨

The day was filled with colour, laughter, and the gentle flutter of butterflies — a truly magical experience for everyone! 🌺💛
Colleen absolutely loved the visit. 💖
