🌍 Team Building with a Twist! 🌍

Last week at Waterloo Care Home, our monthly team-building session took us around the world! 🗺✨

Each of us placed a pin on the world map showing where we were born and enjoyed a lovely chit-chat session — sharing fun facts, memories, and stories from our birthplaces. ❤

We talked about how long we lived there, why we moved, and what we miss most about “home”. It was such a heartwarming way to learn more about each other’s journeys, cultures, languages, and even global religions. 🌎💬

A wonderful reminder that our Waterloo family truly is a world of its own — full of diversity, stories, and shared smiles! 💛

Employee of the Month at Waterloo Care Home 🥇

This month’s Employee of the Month Award goes to Trudi – and it’s so well deserved! 🌟

Trudi was nominated by a resident’s relative for her exceptional dedication, always taking the utmost care to resolve any issues with genuine kindness, patience, and integrity. Her warm, caring nature truly makes a difference to our residents and their families every day. 💛

🎉🦋 Happy Birthday Colleen! 🦋🎉

On 7th November, our lovely Colleen celebrated her 90th birthday (born in 1935!) 💐

To make it extra special, we took Colleen and her daughter on a wonderful trip to the Stratford Butterfly Farm 🦋✨

The day was filled with colour, laughter, and the gentle flutter of butterflies — a truly magical experience for everyone! 🌺💛
Colleen absolutely loved the visit. 💖

👻 Trick or Treat at Waterloo Care Home! 🎃🧙‍♀🕷

What a spook-tacular afternoon we had! 😍
Our residents were in for a fright (and a lot of fun!) as the children arrived dressed to scare and delight! 🧛‍♂🧟‍♀👹

Laughter, sweets 🍬, and plenty of smiles filled the home as our little monsters went door to door spreading Halloween cheer. 🖤🕸

A huge thank you to all the children (and parents!) who made the visit so special — your costumes were absolutely fang-tastic! 🦇✨

💜 We love seeing generations come together — it’s what makes days like these so magical.

What a fang-tastic time we had during our Halloween Pumpkin Competition! 👻🕷
Our residents and team got truly creative — carving, laughing, and showing off their spooky skills! From funny faces to downright scary pumpkins, the results were boo-tiful! 😍🕸

Everyone joined in the fun, with plenty of giggles, a sprinkle of competition, and of course… a few spooky surprises along the way! 💀✨

🌟 Employee of the Month – Congratulations Olga Dubova! 🌟

This month, we reached out to our residents’ relatives and asked them to nominate a team member who has truly gone above and beyond — someone who deserves special recognition for their kindness and dedication. 💕

We are delighted to announce that Olga Dubova has been chosen as Employee of the Month! 🏆

We received a heartfelt nomination from the daughter of one of our residents (Room 18), praising Olga for her thoughtfulness. Olga kindly brought in a book especially for the resident — such a simple yet meaningful gesture that really made a difference. 📖💖

Well done, Olga! Your care and compassion shine through in everything you do. 🌷

⭐ Fun Team Activity at Waterloo Care Home ⭐

We recently enjoyed a lively round of Hangman based on the topic of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) — and it turned into a fantastic learning experience for everyone!

It wasn’t just about guessing words — it was about teamwork, laughter, and brushing up on some really useful workplace knowledge.

Here’s what we took away from this fun session:

• ✅ Encouraged great teamwork and communication
• ✅ Created a relaxed, friendly atmosphere
• ✅ Refreshed our knowledge of important IPC practices
• ✅ Boosted team morale and reduced stress
• ✅ Helped colleagues get to know each other better

A big well done to Trudi, who guessed the most words and took home the treat! 🎉

What a brilliant way to mix learning with laughter — well done, everyone!

🎀 What a Wonderful Breast Cancer Research Day We Had! 🎶

Everyone had a fantastic afternoon at Waterloo Care Home, singing, dancing, and raising an amazing £86 for Breast Cancer Research Day! 💗

The incredible Sarah Ruck performed live, and there were pink cakes, pink games, and plenty of laughter — all in support of a truly worthy cause. 🌸

It was a day filled with music, smiles, and pink positivity — thank you to everyone who joined in and made it so special! 💕
