What a wonderfully relaxing afternoon with Kay and Gwen leading us in some seated Tai Chi and mindfulness. It really took our minds off the terrible weather we’ve had here today. A chance to sit in peace is a rare thing.
Refreshments, singing and a birthday all added to a blissful afternoon.

Denim for Dementia Day. The room was full of chatter as this competative bunch worked through an 1940’s quiz. Reminisced about pocket money and their first trip to the cinema they could recall.
After a welcome cuppa and cake we sang songs from the 40’s, 50’s & 60’s.
Finally we were delighted to accept a cheque for £750.00 from the Barchester Foundation and were joined by staff and residents of Drummond Grange Care Home, Lasswade (one of their care homes) to present us with the cheque. Thank you!

A big thank you to Helen Lambie who shared some of her expertise and made bread rolls with us today. They are delicious! After tea, coffee and fruit loaf we enjoyed a sing song with Anna.

Another fabulous afternoon with Alex from LiveforDance. Romance was in the air with a fabulous selection of Romeo and Juliet themed music for us to dance to. Followed by some well deserved refreshments and a good singing session with Anna.

National quiz day! Testing our grey matter in teams, enjoying tea/coffee & cake with friends. A little liqueur chocolate ensured we were in good spirits for our sing song.

A cracking afternoon with Let’s Uke who entertained us in fine style with some great Scottish tunes and a splash of Robert Burns for good measure. Refreshments and more singing after. Thanks as always to all our fantastic volunteers and to the Gillespie Centre. We couldn’t do it with you.
