I’m sure that pulling half of my own body weight is not very impressive… however, I’ve been pulling on this machine since I got back in the gym after surgery.. around a year ago. I spent about 9 months working with 49kg (70kg-49kg =30kg) and had the worst back pain flare up during that time. I’ve been playing with 42kg for a month or so and today this happened!

The beginning of building often takes the longest and doesn’t appear to be yielding results, but keep pulling or pushing that heavy thing and eventually results will come. 💪💙😍

In Jan 2024 when my hip pain became unmanageable with the classes I was teaching, I gave up my permanent classes to focus on “prehab” for the hip replacement.

Aug 2024 I got my shiney new hip and what with multiple bulging discs in my back, recovery has definitely NOT been a straight line!

October 2025 has been a busy one with me teaching a lot of cover classes, completing the Les Mills Shapes training (fingers crossed I pass) and pushing my own training hard!

Onwards and upwards. Teaching fitness, being a Personal Trainer and a Yoga teacher really is the best job in the world and I dm so grateful to be able to use my body while I work!

I really have learned how to listen to my body and am sharing this with my clients. 💙

In the last year, walking every day has become a non-negotiable. A hip replacement and chronic back pain are both managed with this little promise I made to myself.

Now I know 5,000 steps a day isn’t a huge amount, but the consistency is doing its magic. 😍
