***** A Change in Date ****

Sat 7th March 2026
1 - 5pm

Join me for a day of connection and healing with the Ocean Drum. A deeply restorative day working with the element of water, a source or emotion, intuition, clarity and flow.

Through connection, movement and resonance of the Ocean Drum, we will explore how water teaches us to soften, release and return to our natural rhythm. Closing your eyes, listening with your whole self, recognising you are not the observer, but part of all things, allowing stillness, clarity and flow.

In this workshop, you will:

✨ Learn about playing and working intuitively with the Ocean Drum as a medicine tool.

✨ Explore the element water through sound, breath and embodiment.

✨ Build nourishing connections with spiritual wisdom and intuition of water and techniques to enhance your daily practice.

✨ Experience a beautiful Ocean Drum meditation and sound healing.

Come as you are.

What to bring:

πŸ’› A packed lunch, light refreshments are provided.

πŸ’› Ocean Drum if you have one and wish to develop a deeper connection. I have a variety to work with.

πŸ’› If you wish to use your own pillow, blanket, mat for the sound healing to make yourself comfortable. I have all of these available to borrow.

πŸ’› A journal and pen for making reflection notes.

Message or Book via GYMCATCH or my website.

Another remembering to look around us. πŸ₯°

The root of a frequent question I'm asked is about connection. How to build connection, be connected, hear, sense the world, nature, animals, spirit. It's all woven around awareness and connection and begins with ourselves. ☺️

How we choose to experience the world...it really is a choice...a habit we can create and transform into something that nourishes.

How do we look?

With our eyes....a distictive yellow fungus on winter tree branches.

With our mind...it's the tail end of winter, lots of light rain/drizzle, older trees shedding dead wood and oak trees. All create conditions for fungi to grow.

With our ears...the sounds of Spring birdsong, raindrops dripping, dead wood branches knocking together and falling.

With our felt sense (touch)...direction and strength of the wind, softness of ground, mud, water, leaves, twigs.

With fragrance...composting leaves, decaying wood and petrichor.

With our core, the inexplicable...a sense of water flow beneath our feet, seeds and bulbs growing, softness returning to trees...and more.

The you see it....

✨️ Witches butter ✨️

Or yellow brain. A fiendish fungus that feeds off other fungi that breaks down dead wood. 😳

Lots of contrasting folklore with this one. πŸ˜‰

On these grey drizzly days It's so easy to overlook our surroundings. Focusing on the destination rather than the moment.

I walked past these in the grounds and went back to savour. To appreciate their arrival and light on a wet day. It's easy to look for flowers when the sun is shining, we all know the preciousness of beauty in those grey/dank times.

Embarking on this year's dedicated study this week, a pause of self reflection I was asked what I find most difficult......Sit spot meditation in nature in the cold and wet, quite a challenge with the UK!

So I stopped in the rain.....and much was revealed.

The nuances between passive meditation and active meditation. Each has their place.

As we stretch and awaken to Spring, so the offerings at the Old Chapel transform. Keep up to date online or follow the links to receive a newsletter.☺️

I spotted this humming bird duvet cover last week and knew it was time to use the gifted memory foam mattress topper as 3 comfy mats!

It was used as sound proofing at the studio and waited to see the best use and storage at the chapel before cutting it up.

It's so squidgy and gorgeous! 😍

We'll trial them tonight on a first come basis. ☺️

My Story

I discovered the benefits of himalayan bowls whilst on a pamper day recovering from breast cancer treatment. After surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy I was left with a number of side effects. Peripheral neuropathy, muscle fatigue and the stress of treatment made relaxation challenging. The wonderful harmonies and sonic vibrations of the himalayan bowls unlocked the tension and I could once again completely relax. I had thought I was relaxed, but in that moment I suddenly realised I hadn’t been at all.

I was so amazed by the experience I needed to find out more and went on to learn about and train in the use of a variety of instruments for use in sound therapy.

Each style of instrument has their own qualities, soothing and nurturing us when we are at our most vulnerable through to empowering and energising us when we are strong. Each session is individual and very personal to us. It is a pleasure to share this beautiful practise and enable others to relax and restore physially, emotionally and spiritually.

Kay is a fully trained crystal bowl and himalayan bowl practitioner with the College of Sound Healing and gong practitioner with Mehtab Benton, Gong Dharma.
