We LOVE training! Thank you Karen for spending time to run through some further SSKIN training last week.

The 5 Steps of SSKIN
The training modules are structured around the acronym SSKIN:
S - Surface: Ensure the surfaces (mattresses, cushions) supporting the patient provide adequate pressure relief.
S - Skin Inspection: Perform early and regular inspections of the skin, particularly over bony prominences, to catch damage early.
K - Keep Moving: Encourage regular repositioning and movement to reduce pressure and boost blood flow.
I - Incontinence/Moisture: Keep the patient’s skin clean and dry, as moisture can weaken the skin and increase vulnerability.
N - Nutrition/Hydration: Ensure the patient is eating well and drinking enough fluids to maintain healthy skin.
