Building a gingerbread house isn’t just a festive activity, it’s a fantastic way to support fine motor skills, emotional regulation and sensory exploration.

From squeezing icing and placing small decorations to planning, problem-solving and staying calm when pieces don’t quite stick, this activity packs in so many therapeutic benefits.

Plus, the textures, smells and colours offer brilliant sensory input. A fun Christmas tradition that’s secretly great OT work too! 🎄

🎄🐾 Office Update from Ellie, Therapy Dog (Seasonal Intern Edition) 🐾🎄

Hello valued clients,
Ellie here. I’m currently working remotely from my boyfriend’s house for the holidays. While reviewing important documents (aka sniffing the kitchen), I identified an unsecured Christmas cake belonging to my Grammy.

After a thorough risk assessment, I took swift action and helped myself.
Quality control is now complete. ✔️
