Last week the team at Heath Lodge were busy raising awareness of Safeguarding Adults Week! ✨

They kicked off the week with a fun arts and crafts session, where the individuals we support chose letters from the word ‘Safeguarding’ and decorated them in their own unique styles — lots of colour, creativity and personality. 🎨 All of the unique designs have been proudly displayed on their safeguarding wall. 🖼️ Enjoying light refreshments and discussing the meaning of safeguarding. With everyone showing great awareness and understanding of the importance of safeguarding.

Registered Manager Justine said “We were joined by our newest individual to Heath Lodge who has just begun their transition. 🏡 It was lovely to see how the group immediately welcomed him in. 🥰 He settled so quickly, felt relaxed enough to join in, and participated during the discussions — a positive first day for him. 😊 After the arts and crafts, everyone completed the safeguarding quiz. The confidence shown by the people we support was fantastic — they answered thoughtfully and it was clear they understand what safeguarding is and how to recognise different types of abuse. A huge well done to Werner and Steven, who both scored full marks and received certificates!” 🥇

Throughout the week they ran a session on online safety, an important topic as many of the individuals we support use the internet each day. With everyone sharing their thoughts and showing a good understanding of how to keep themselves and others safe. Everyone scored highly in the online safety quiz showing their string knowledge and awareness of safeguarding. 👏
During the session everyone created posters using words and phrases the individuals we support might use if they ever felt they were being targeted or made to feel vulnerable. These posters were thoughtful, creative, and personal to each individual and have also been displayed on our Safeguarding wall.

It was a positive, productive week full of learning, confidence-building, and important safeguarding conversations. 🗣️

Sam swings into 50 with a roaring jungle celebration! 🐒🎉

A big Happy 50th Birthday to Sam at Larwood House who recently turned 50. 🎂🥳

Sam’s Jungle style birthday was filled with laughter, fun and plenty of- themed surprises! Sam who reached the big 50 wanted something special to celebrate and enjoyed the monkey ballons and different animal type of foods and snacks. 🐒 Sam enjoyed all the company to celebrate his birthday. 🥳

Here’s to another 50 years of adventures Sam! 💚

📣 A massive congratulations to some of the individuals we support who have successfully completed their Tier 2 Oliver McGowan training. We are extremley proud to announce the newest Lived Experience Expert Trainers to deliver the Tier 2 face to face Oliver McGowan training. 👏

The individuals we support all travelled to Birmingham from different parts of the country to attend the training together with some staying overnight.

The Tier 2 training went very well, with lots of hugs all round as everyone met each other and supported each other to complete the training.ℹ️

PK who is now a Lived Expert said, "I had a great day, enjoyed meeting everybody. It was great being able to share my own personal experience and knowledge. I am keen to continue and progress with the next stage." 😊

Incredible achievement, well done everyone. 👏 We can't wait to see all of your journeys in supporting with Oliver McGowan training in future and all you achieve from this. 🧡

London-bound! ⚽💂🏼🏛️

📣We would like to give a huge mention to two of the incredible staff members at Elm Road North who recently won tickets to watch the England football game and invited two of the people we support to join them on their trip to London. ⚽👏

Registered Manager Tony said, “What an inspiration they both are, always going above and beyond for the individuals we support. They both really enjoyed their trip away. Thank you both.” 💙

Two of the individuals we support had an incredible trip in London, making memories to last a lifetime with staff members Charlie and Aarron. 📸

There was more spooky fun across October! 👻🎃

Westward had a day trip out to a local pumpkin patch where they picked out their pumpkins, designed and carved them. 🎃 There were lots of smiles at the pumpkin patch with everyone engaging with the animals - lots of smile-filled pictures! 🐐📸

Registered Manager Rachel said “This was a lovely activity and all the people we support engaged positively with great feedback. 😊 A lot of the people we support were excited to pick their very own pumpkin and enjoyed seeing the animals.”

There was more pumpkin carving over at Arbury House, SB, BM and DG spent a day carving their own pumpkins on Pumpkin Day. 🎃

But that was not all BM and OM had a spooktacular day at Alton Towers Scare Fest, going on rides and in the scare mazes. 👻🎢

Lots of amazing memories made over the spooky season, we can’t wait to see the new memories everyone creates as we head into the magical Christmas season. ❄️🎄

What you’ll do:
✔️ Support individuals with their personal, physical, and emotional needs overnight
✔️ Assist with nightly duties, domestic and administrative tasks
✔️ Take part in meaningful activities and provide personal care
✔️ Work shifts from 9 pm – 8 am, 38.5 hours/week on a 4-week rolling rota

At Arbury, everyone got involved in a spot of baking — homemade apple and cinnamon parcels! 🍏✨

The results? Delicious desserts, lots of laughter, and a real sense of togetherness.

We all enjoyed them with a scoop of ice cream after tea — the perfect way to end the day.

Charlie from Newbold had his yearly visit to The Magical Woodland, with support staff Jez and Ola! 🌲🪄

Every year Charlie enjoys this Halloween trip, enjoying looking at all the lights, interactive props and food vendors at the event. ✨

Charlie enjoys being in the community, watching the hustle and bustle of others.

This is always a fantastic achievement for Charlie, as the car journey is 2 hours long and Charlie can sometimes show a disliking to long journeys, but had a wonderful evening with Jez and Ola, completing the yearly tradition of a visit to The Magical Woodland. 😃🪵

The individuals we support at Elm Road have had a wonderful trip to Blackpool Illuminations ✨❄️

Staff members Christine, Maz, Tino and Evelyn went above and beyond to support the individuals to Blackpool and it was a fun-filled evening visiting the illuminations.

They enjoyed a stop at McDonald’s for some delicious food before starting their journey through the lights. 🍟

Registered Manager Tony said “Thank you to the team for ticking off one of their Christmas activities they want to do!” 👏

✨ Disneyland Magic Unlocked! ✨

We’re so excited to share some truly magical moments from John and Norman’s incredible trip to Disneyland Paris! 🏰✨

This adventure has been in the works since May, and thanks to the hard work of Paige, Chi and Sylvia, every detail — from passports and funds to rotas — came together perfectly.

✈️ The fun started right from the plane ride, followed by a private transfer to the stunning Disneyland Hotel, where the gang stayed in a Princess and the Frog–themed room. Talk about fairytale living!

Once inside Disneyland, they made the absolute most of their time:
🍽️ Character breakfasts
🎆 Fireworks
🎃 Halloween parades
✨ And so many unforgettable moments!

Norman absolutely loved meeting all the characters and seeing the castle lit up, while John was over the moon with the parades — and of course couldn’t resist a train ride around the park (he kept asking for a train to Darlington! 🚂).
They topped it all off with some well-deserved shopping… especially gloves, teddies and hoodies for John — his favourites! 🧤🧸🧥

A huge thank you to the amazing staff team for making this dream trip happen. Your dedication, planning and care created beautiful memories that John and Norman will cherish forever. ❤️

This is a massive achievement for Middleton Lodge — and we think it’s safe to say… everyone has caught the holiday bug now! 🌟✈️

We wanted to share some more of the spooktacular Halloween celebrations across Potens! 🎃

Larwood House were busy over Halloween working as a team to put all the decorations up. 👻
Pam said, “I hope don’t find any spiders in my bed.”
Sam says “Ready for trick or treaters.

Cecil Court and Dale House carved some spooktacular pumpkins, put on their scary costumes and enjoyed lovely buffets. 🦇 Dale went for the brilliant singer Steve to end their day. Cecil decorated stones, had an eye and spoon race, played wrap the mummy and finished with a group Thriller dance, which was amazing. 👻🎵

👻 Halloween Staff Party Fun at Supported Lives! 🎃

Khadija said “Everyone had an amazing time celebrating Halloween! The office was full of spooky energy as everyone joined in for our **scavenger hunt**, **Halloween games**, and of course, the **Best Pumpkin Contest**. 🎃✨
From creative costumes to impressive pumpkin designs, everyone brought their A-game — and most importantly, we all had a blast together! 💀🕸️
Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun and helped make this a Halloween to remember!” 🧡🖤

Arbury House had a spookified evening with lots of games, scary costumes and dancing! 🦇🎶

At Kensington Hall over the Halloween and bonfire night season, the individuals we support have been to a Halloween party at different event, hosted our own party in house and had a Pumpkin carving competition. 🎃 Mark Thomas and Sharon come first place and won a large bag of sweets and second place was Christine, Deirdre and Stacey who also won sweets, at our party we had a lovely buffet followed with Apple Bobbing and Jelly Bobbing 🍎, music playing and dancing! 😊On bonfire night we enjoyed having Sparklers in the garden with hotdogs and fries. 🌭🎇 After a busy few weeks it’s now time to get everyone in to the Christmas spirit. 🎄

Nick from Pendle View joined Calder View for their Halloween party with lots of games, music and a yummy buffet - it was a great day . 👻😃
