Is AviClear for rosacea? 🤔

Short answer: Officially no: AviClear is FDA-cleared for acne - not rosacea - 𝗯𝘂𝘁 in carefully selected cases it can help.

By targeting overactive sebaceous glands, AviClear may reduce pustular bumps and oiliness seen in some people with papulopustular rosacea, and can sometimes soften early rhinophyma-type thickening on the nose.

What it won’t do: AviClear doesn’t directly treat diffuse redness, flushing, or visible veins - these usually respond better to vascular lasers/BBL, prescription topicals and SPF.

Our approach at Midland Skin is consultant-dermatologist led:

✔️ Discuss realistic goals

Fully ablative vs fractional laser resurfacing - what’s the difference? 🤔⚡️👇

✔️ Fully ablative resurfacing treats 100% of the surface in one pass for deeper, structural change (e.g. etched lines, advanced photoageing.) It can deliver bigger improvements in a single session, but with longer recovery and redness that can persist for months; it’s typically best for lighter skin types (I-II) and carefully selected cases.

✔️ Fractional resurfacing treats a grid of microscopic columns, leaving bridges of intact skin for faster healing (often ~7-10 days) and a lower risk profile, suitable for a broader range of skin tones (I-V.) It’s ideal for texture, pores, fine lines and most types of acne scars, usually as a series of sessions; we can also combine fractional with targeted fully ablative “spot” passes when needed.

What is TCA CROSS?
 A high-strength, focal application of trichloroacetic acid into the base of ice pick scars - the subtype of acne scarring that often responds poorly to other modalities. This advanced treatment stimulates targeted collagen remodelling, typically over multiple sessions and can be combined with laser in the same visit for broader texture improvement.
