I have been a complementary therapist since 1998 following a career in laboratories. I had completed an Open University Degree in Maths, Physics and Environment followed by a Masters in Environmental Management. During this time I suffered a series of bad backs and was recommended to a local osteopath, Stephen Ling, whose whole approach to health changed my thinking. I became interested in aromatherapy and was interested in the oils as a means of healing without harsh chemicals. I eventually studied for a Diploma in Aromatherapy but still was looking at it as a hobby. However during the course I became pregnant and met other holistic therapists and decided to take the plunge and leave my full time job and start my own business. During my maternity leave I took diplomas in Indian Head Massage and Reflexology and started work at the Erdington Osteopaths clinic. During my second career I developed my practice and have studied other therapies and can now offer Reiki, Hopi Ear Candling, Bowen Technique, Thai Foot Massage, Hot Stones Therapy, Nutritional Advise and Bio Detox.

So we're not allowed back to work on 4th July. I'm waiting for an update from the Federation of Holistic Therapists who have been working with the Government. Will let you know when I have more news

Hi. I'm having a number of people contact me for appointments. The advice is that we can't open earlier than 4th July but we still don't know an actual date. I'm not going to take any bookings until I know what the requirements are regarding PPE etc. It's obvious that all therapists are going to have to work very differently and won't be able to fit so many clients in with all the sanitising etc. I've decided that I'm only offering Bowen and reflexology initially with consultations carried out on the phone before the appointment. It's going to be a different world for a while. I'll let you know when I have a start date when the government let us know.
