This week, our family took a trip to Warwick Castle — a wonderful step back through the ages. From the armour and ancient walls to the stories of those who lived (and died) within them, it was a fascinating reminder of how deeply our traditions and ways of honouring life have evolved over time.
It also made me pause and reflect on our own profession. Funeral care is as old as history itself — every era, every culture has found its own way to say goodbye, to remember, and to show respect.💚

Three years ago, I had the privilege of meeting the Espie family while conducting the celebration of life service for the late John Espie.

Some families leave a lasting impact, and I have stayed connected with them. Tragically, just three years later, today I conducted the service for Karina, whose life was filled with love and so much promise.

Her passing has left so many broken hearts.The chapel was filled to capacity, a testament to the incredible woman she was.

As promised, I've raised a glass of Bacardi and Coke with plenty of ice, just how she liked it, in her honour.
