Bournville Gardens opened in 2015; providing 212 spacious homes and a host of opportunities to its residents. Whether you wish to make new friends, enjoy hobbies and skills or protect your future in a safe and welcoming community where care is available if you need it. A close partnership between The ExtraCare Charitable Trust, Bournville Village Trust and Birmingham City Council, Bournville Gardens is located on the site of the former Bournville College. The village includes the following facilities:

Café bar and lounge
Well-being suite and well-being bathroom
Hairdressing and beauty salon
Hobby room
Craft room
Fitness suite
Enriched opportunities suite (to support people who develop dementia)
Fully accessible toilet facilities
Laundry
Lifts
Cash machine
Greenhouse and village gardens

The facilities are at the heart of a state-of-the-art, sustainable community that benefits over 200 older people, encouraging social and active participation amongst all age groups within the local neighbourhood. Residents, visitors and volunteers have the opportunity to take part in a variety of hobbies, including choir singing, Tai Chi, writing, drama, wheelchair aerobics and woodwork, all designed to support independence and improved social opportunities. ExtraCare staff provide care for up to a third of residents within their own home. This includes a well-being service and specialist, award-winning support for those who might develop dementia.

So...about yesterday at Bournville Gardens...we celebrated our '10th' Anniversary🍾🥂🎉 in the only way we know how, by having fun 😁 Pianist playing through lunch, a singer, lovely speeches, beautiful Birthday cakes 🎂, a caricaturist and stilt walker which everybody loved, delicious 'High Tea' followed by dancing with the fabulous 'Herman's Hermits'...what a day ❤️
