One of the most important decisions when planning a funeral is choosing between cremation and burial.

Both offer meaningful ways to say goodbye:
🌿 Cremation offers flexibility and choice.
🌿 Burial provides a permanent resting place for families to visit.

Take a read of this guide to help you understand the different options:

Whilst a direct cremation is a cremation that goes ahead without a funeral service or mourners attending the crematorium, it doesn’t have to feel distant or impersonal.

With Thomas Furber and Co.:
πŸ•Š Your loved one stays in our care in our Harborne funeral home
πŸ•Š You can visit them in our Chapel of Rest to say your final goodbyes
πŸ•Š Cremation takes place locally in Birmingham
πŸ•Š You’ll always receive personal support and guidance from our team
πŸ•Š Your loved ones ashes are returned to you promptly and personally
πŸ•Š We can help you choose a precious urn or memorial keepsake

With a national direct cremation provider (like the ones you see advertising on the TV) the service you receive is much different.

For a simple, local and respectful send off, choose Thomas Fuber & Co.

At Thomas Furber & Co., we are proud of the people who make our service possible. πŸ’š

Alongside Keith, Dave and Sue, who meet families while arranging a funeral, we also have a trusted support team: Frank, Keith, Scott and Steve.

It’s their role to care for your loved one with dignity from the moment they are brought into our care, to the day of the funeral. And they prepare the deceased for chapel visits and the day of the funeral.

They also ensure our funeral vehicles are always maintained to the highest standard. And as drivers and pallbearers, they also support families on the day itself.

Each member of our team has worked with us for many years, and their compassion and dedication are an essential part of the care we provide.

Our Chapels of Rest provide a peaceful space where you can spend time with your loved one before the funeral. πŸ’š

We have three private rooms available, each one provides a quiet and tranquil space giving you a private space to say goodbye in your own way.

To make the Chapels even more personal to you, we add or remove any religious symbols from the room to ensure it reflects the values and beliefs of your family and the deceased.

If you would like to arrange a Chapel of Rest visit or have any questions, our team is here to support you.

πŸ•Š Crossing The Bar, by Alfred Tennyson
