Great news! Thanks to some wonderful people, Luke Fitzgerald and I got some funding to visit Quai 9 in Geneva at the end of the month. Luke, Judith and I will be interviewing the Director, some practitioners and some clients. Quai 9, 10 years on, no deaths, vastly improved health, reduced needle litter, access to treatment...the list goes on. DCR save lives and Public Health money. What's not to like?

Following on from our last documentary, we decided to ask the residents of Birmingham if they would like a Drug Consumption Room (DCR) in their City. DCRs ar...

Had a fantastic day filming the beautiful Brummies yesterday. You might have guessed it, every single person we asked thought a DCR was a good idea. Now, these are Birmingham residents and voters. It was their views. They all agreed policies should be based on scientific evidence as opposed to moral judgement. They all agreed the Council should provide street injectors with somewhere safe to take their drugs. Thank you Suzanne Porter for a job well done, you were fantastic. And thank you Luke once again. Now for the editing.

Documentary update: Luke, Suzanne and I will be interviewing Birmingham's residents this Friday. Like I said, we want to know their views on having a DCR in their City. Should be interesting.

Luke and I are about to hit the streets of Birmingham again for a follow up documentary. This time, we will be asking the residents their views on DCRs. We know what happened last year when we did this exercise. We didn't use the footage in the end. Every single young, old, poor, rich, white, black, asian person we asked thought DCRs made sense and would be happy to see one open in Birmingham. We, of course, need some conflict which I'm sure we will get. This needs to be balanced. But I am more than confident it will sway our way. Let's see what the voters have to say about street injecting in their City and what they expect the authorities to do about it.

Hahaha, just saw the latest comment on the DCR You Tube doc. This was posted 4 days ago:
"Ok, drugs are always a problem. But what other problem this guy has with all that tattoos?" Still laughing now, I swear!!!!
