Verrucae can be very painful and are often misdiagnosed as corns. Corns are plugs of hard skin and are caused by pressure as opposed to verrucae which are caused by the HPV virus. We would always advise against self treatment and recommend you see a Podiatrist who can correctly identify whether or not you have a corn or a verruca.
