What happens during a mastopexy augmentation (uplift + implant exchange) 👇 with Dr. .oestreich.plastics

This case involved a more complex revision procedure, as the patient already had implants that had developed advanced capsular contracture (encapsulation).

During surgery, the old implants and surrounding capsule were carefully removed, the breast tissue was reshaped and lifted, and new implants were placed to restore balance, position and contour.

Revision breast surgery requires thoughtful planning and surgical precision to address both shape and underlying scar tissue — every step is tailored to the individual.

What a Lock & Glue tummy tuck actually looks like – before, during & recovery 👇

🔍 Pre-op
This is not the most common tummy tuck presentation. In this case, there was significant excess skin above the belly button (whereas most patients tend to have laxity mainly below the belly button). This pattern of skin excess can create more complex contour distortion and won’t respond to liposuction or skin-tightening devices alone.

- During surgery
You’ll notice the skin fold (“flower”) visible pre-op on the right side has disappeared once the tissues are lifted and repositioned. This highlights just how much excess skin required excision to restore a smoother abdominal contour.

✨ Procedure details
• Lock & Glue lipoabdominoplasty
• Liposuction: 1 litre
• Tissue removed: 500 ml
• Muscle repair (diastasis recti): 6 cm

Why Lock & Glue?
This advanced technique uses internal quilting sutures and tissue glue (rather than traditional drains) to:
– Improve comfort during recovery
– Support earlier mobilisation
– Reduce fluid build-up
– Help achieve a smoother, more athletic-looking abdomen

⏳ Recovery timeline
These after images show results at around 2 months post-op. Swelling will continue to settle and scars will soften and fade over the coming months as healing progresses.
