There are 5 other homes currently within the Macc Care group; Priestley Rose, Church Rose, Wulfrun Rose, Abbey Rose and Austin Rose. All Macc Care homes, are recognised by the CQC, and are providers of high quality nursing under the NHS continuing healthcare framework. On Sunday our residents of Meadow Rose were invited to Bellfield Junior School for a remembrance afternoon tea.

The school arranged their mini bus transport to collect our residents, they were treated like VIP’s.

On arrival they have a lovely remembrance placemat setting. The afternoon tea was served by children from the school.

There was a craft session, an opportunity to write on a CD a note of remembrance for the school’s remembrance garden.

They observed the two minutes silence which was very emotional for our residents.

They ended the afternoon with a game of Bingo and we had a winner amongst the residents.

A fantastic afternoon was had by all and we look forward to the next event at the school. A massive thank you to Bellfield for inviting us.

Today our residents have been concentrating hard as they enjoyed a few games of bingo.

There was silence in the dining room as they listened to Becky from our activities team calling the numbers out.

This is not just for the residents, families join in too.

Yesterday our residents at Meadow Rose had their favourite activity of the week……..’A lock in!’

This meant they had fish and chips from our local chippy and a film of their choice. This week they chose a Christmas film called Christmas inheritance.

A great night was had by all the residents and their families. Everyone then retired to bed with fully tummies!

Today the residents held their own coffee morning at Meadow Rose. 🌹

It was great to see so many family members and friends join our residents today.

They were hosted today by Becky from our activities team. She served the team and coffee whilst our fabulous kitchen team provided the cakes.

If you are at home alone and looking for some company please do come along and join the coffee morning. Our next one will be 12th November at 10.30am. Everyone is welcome.

This heart-warming initiative supports people experiencing homelessness in our city by providing bags filled with essential items to help through the colder months – and we’d love your help! 🧣🧤

We welcome all staff, relatives, friends, and members of our local community to support us by donating vital essentials. You can drop items off here at Rose Specialist Dementia Care – just choose from the lists below! 💛

Today Julie our customer relations executive has been to the Birmingham South Support Parkinson’s group.

During her visit she promoted Meadow Rose 🌹 and our upcoming events, coffee morning and Christmas Fayre.

The afternoon was a great insight into living with Parkinson’s and the help available. Julie throughly enjoyed the afternoon and was pleased to be invited.

Mary from friends of Meadow is a volunteer there following her own personal experience. She was busy today running the raffle, helping to raise funds for the support group.

This afternoon our residents were busy playing dominoes in the dining room.

There was silence through concentration and plenty of competitiveness among the players.

This is a weekly activity they all enjoy and request to play.

It’s been a busy pamper day for our residents today at Meadow Rose.🌹

Our hairdresser has been cutting, colouring and blow drying our residents hair, making both ladies and gentlemen look a million dollars.

Becky from our activities team has been busy painting nails of the ladies who requested it. So lots of autumn colours used today.

The Meadow Rose team gave a fabulous Halloween party to the residents and family members on Friday.

There were lots of people in fancy dress. This added to the humour of the day. Everyone had taken a lot of time to think about their costume.

There was a buffet provided by our amazing kitchen team. They tried to keep the food to the spooky theme too!
