A reminder that from 1st April 2026, a key change is coming that will impact the Temporary Traffic Management sector.

Lantra and the NHSS 12ABCD Committee are removing the six-month post-expiry grace period for NHSS 12 skills.

What this means:

> Once a skill expires, it’s expired

> There is no grace period for renewal after this date

> To regain an expired skill, it must be restarted from scratch

Only valid and current qualifications will appear on the e-Card - expired ones will NOT

Our advice to avoid being caught out:

> Review skills now to ensure you have captured any renewals in good time before 1st April

> Moving forward, plan renewals early. Treat expiry dates as hard deadlines

> Check e-Cards regularly

Thank You for a Fantastic 2025!

As the year draws to a close, everyone at Up To Speed Training would like to say a huge thank you to our clients, partners and followers for your continued support throughout 2025.

It’s been a successful and progressive year for the business, marked by growth, development and an exciting milestone - expanding our national footprint to three training centres, with the addition of our Hemel Hempstead hub this summer.

We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved this year and grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey with us.

Our offices will close for the Christmas period on 24th December, and reopen on 5th January 2026.

We’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to working with you again in 2026.

Calling all fantasy footballers - the race is on!

Our Up To Speed Fantasy Premier League is entering a busy and crucial period, and with cash prizes up for grabs for our top three managers at the end of the season, we’re playing for more than just bragging rights... it’s time to kick the competition into high gear.

Our southern training centre in Hemel Hempstead has been a huge success since opening midway through 2025, and we’re delighted to confirm that new course dates for 2026 are imminent.

The demand we’ve seen over the past few months has been incredible, and as a result, we’ll be expanding our course offering even further for the year ahead.

This strategic southern base was created with one goal in mind - to make high-quality, accredited training more accessible for learners across the South.

Supporting the Salvation Army Blue Star Christmas Appeal 2025!

Once again this year, Up To Speed Training is proud to support The Salvation Army’s Blue Star Christmas Appeal, helping to bring joy to local families who may otherwise have little or nothing under the tree on Christmas morning.

We’ll be collecting new, unwrapped toys and gifts at our training centre in Birmingham, and we welcome donations from anyone who would like to contribute.

Yesterday saw another ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ for us.

We took time out as a team to explore ‘My Working Day’ - the new wellbeing and feedback platform that lets everyone share how they’re feeling (anonymously or visibly) with just a tap of an emoji. 🙂 There’s also the option to elaborate, if you wish to.

We’ve implemented this across the business to further support the wellbeing of our workforce.

For the team, it offers a quick and easy way to provide honest feedback. For the business, it gives real-time insights to help us support our people and track trends over time.

We rounded the day off with a great team lunch and a catch-up away from the work environment - the perfect balance of connection and good conversation 💬

Today marks World Mental Health Day - a reminder of how important it is to look after our mental wellbeing and to create supportive environments where everyone feels valued, understood, and heard.

At Up To Speed Training, mental health isn’t just a conversation for one day a year - it’s something we continue to prioritise throughout the business.

We’re proud to have three qualified Mental Health First Aiders across all levels of our organisation, ensuring that support is always available when it’s needed most.

We also regularly run our ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ initiative - a chance for the team to step away from the day-to-day, spend time together, and focus on connection, balance, and wellbeing.

Our next session takes place on October 29th, and we can’t wait to get the team together once again.
