A tantrum isn’t “naughty.”
Backchat isn’t “disrespect.”
Shutting down isn’t “rude.”
Crying over small things isn’t “overreacting.”

They’re all messages:
📌 “I’m overwhelmed.”
📌 “I don’t feel heard.”
📌 “I’m scared of getting it wrong.”
📌 “I don’t know how to cope with this feeling.”

Children show us their feelings through behaviour long before they can tell us with words.

So your superpower isn’t being the “perfect parent.”
It’s being the safe place.

🧠 Pause before reacting
💛 Get curious instead of furious
🗣️ “What’s really happening for my child right now?”

Connection first → behaviour follows.

You’re not raising a perfectly behaved child.
You’re raising a human who knows they’re loved when they’re at their worst.
And that changes everything. 🤍

The way we show up shapes our children’s inner world, the place they grow inside long before they grow into the outside world.

When we meet life with calm, they learn what calm feels like.
When we move through stress with awareness, they learn that big feelings are safe to navigate.

Be the light they can look toward.
Be the calm they can borrow.
Be the steady in their storm. 🌟

“Children rarely say ‘I’m struggling’.
They show it.

Through anger.
Through silence.
Through lashing out.
Through withdrawing.

Bullying doesn’t start with behaviour, it starts with emotion.”

According to the Anti-Bullying Alliance, over 30% of children in the UK experience bullying every year. That’s nearly one in three children feeling unsafe somewhere they should feel protected.

Adults can change this, but only when we understand the emotional story underneath the behaviour.

Anti-Bullying Week: Helping Children Discover Their Superpowers

Bullying hurts. But children are not powerless. When they understand their feelings and learn how to use their inner superpowers, something remarkable happens. They find their voice. They find their courage. And they begin to understand others with empathy and kindness.

The Ollie and His Super Powers books follow Ollie as he navigates the challenges many children face. He deals with bullies who take his belongings and make him feel small. He meets classmates who are laughed at or left out. He supports friends who feel jealous, shy, or scared, as well as children who struggle to belong. Through every story, Ollie learns how emotions work, how to build resilience, and how to use the superpowers already inside him to stand up, speak out, and help others do the same.

These books open the door to conversations about bullying, confidence, empathy, belonging, and emotional well-being. They show children they are never alone, and that every feeling they have is trying to help them.

Perfect for parents, teachers, caregivers, and anyone supporting children, the Ollie books offer families practical ways to tackle bullying with understanding rather than fear.

💛 Let us raise a generation who know their worth and their power.

This week, let’s remind every child and every adult that kindness isn’t just a nice idea. It’s brain science.
Kindness helps calm fear, rebuild confidence, and heal the emotional scars bullying can leave behind.

Together, we can create schools and communities that are safe and connected places where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.
