Real talk. Happens everywhere, every day.

And yet, when I speak about this, I am inundated with grumbling psychiatrists and psychologists telling me that this never happens 🙃🙃🙃

Tell that to my thousands and thousands of followers who have all been pathologised. There’s a reason women resonate with my work - it’s because this is SO COMMON.

I cannot believe how many professionals still deny this pattern.

Woman reports abuse.
No one believes her.
Woman becomes distressed.
Woman struggles to cope.
Woman is diagnosed with BPD.

Like clockwork.

We MUST FIGHT BACK. We must protect as many people from pathologisation and medicalisation as possible.

Question - should physical health professionals be able to the main person people go to for mental health support ?
Only asking as I heard this recently .. patient goes to see an NHS nurse practitioner due to side effects of antidepressants.. and the nurse states “you look ok to me “!!
Note to physical health professionals- suicidal people often “look ok” so put your judgement away and listen with your ears and not your eyes and expectations !

Today reminded me of my training, they warned is it changes / breaks relationships .
In therapy there is a space to explore you and set boundaries and have a voice . This weeds out people who are taking from you and those who are true friends .

January is well and truly whipping our backsides , well mine anyway ! It’s dark cold and the news outlets had been terrifying us with tales of two feet of snow and that’s without the frightening events overseas !
What do we need from ourselves and those around us, if we are lucky to have someone ?
Little things build a strong foundation so connection , laughter, and for me a hot chocolate and a hot water bottle !
I’m off to put the kettle on
