As I celebrate my 28th birthday today, I reflect on the lessons life has graciously taught me. Here are a few insights I've gathered along the Tao:
1. Our minds can be our best friends or worst enemies. How we choose to respond to our thoughts ultimately shapes our reality.
2. We all come from the same source of life (whatever you call that is up to you) we’re just programmed to believe we are separate when this couldn’t be further from the truth. Embracing this interconnectedness dissolves the illusion of separation.
3. I lived in fear at times when I was younger, but now I see there was never anything to be afraid of. I've learned that love transcends all fears. It is the guiding force that illuminates our paths and dissipates shadows.
4. Love yourself and fully accept who you are or at least who you want to be, no one can take that away from you.
5. It’s a skill to be fully present and aware of the world we live in. Life happens fast and if you keep rushing from one thing to the next you might just miss it.
6. Our health is our greatest wealth, your body is your temple if you look after it well you will live a life filled with energy and joy.
7. Death, I've come to understand, is but a transition—a doorway to the next phase of our existence. We are spiritual beings navigating the human experience, and our bodies are mere vessels in this journey.
8. What if the true essence of existence lies not in material acquisition, but in authenticity? This came to me from a thought and a vision (I was completely sober btw), My thought was as follows “What if the meaning of life is not materialistic gain what if it’s about staying true to ourselves” Then I had a vision of a beautifully coloured eye flash to me as my eyes were closed, at the time it made me jump and I nearly fell of my chair! 🤣 Take from that what you wish.
9. Yes, I love doing fun things like the next person, but I’ve found my fondest memories are the times that I’ve been with my closest family and friends. It often doesn’t matter what you’re doing but who you’re spending your time with.
10. I’ve always had faith and belief in myself and at times when I’ve felt lost this has helped me get through the toughest of challenges.
So as I blow out the candles, my birthday wish extends to all who resonate with these words:
Embrace the fullness of your being and experience a journey of self-discovery and fulfilment.
Here's to another year of growth, love, and boundless possibilities.
With gratitude,
James ✌️🏻
