International Women’s Day is a time to recognise the contribution women make across society. In the care sector, it is especially important:
Across the country, thousands of women arrive at work every day to support some of the most vulnerable members of our communities.
Take a moment for all of the carers, nurses, managers and support staff. Many are also mothers, daughters, sisters and grandmothers.
International Women’s Day is a chance to acknowledge that many of the women who provide this care are balancing responsibilities in their own lives. They may finish a shift and go home to their children, help with homework, cook dinner, or support elderly relatives.
The ability to move between these roles, caring professionally while also caring for their own families, reflects strength, commitment and resilience.
International Women’s Day reminds us that the work of caring, often carried out quietly and without recognition, is one of the most meaningful contributions anyone can make.
These messages are lifted from the article below that focuses on care homes - but it applies to care at home aswell. Happy early to all the incred women in our network!
We salute our dedicated teams this weekend - thank you all!
Each year, International Women’s Day gives us a moment to pause and recognise the contribution women make across every part of our society, writes CCFTV's Jayne Connery
