If you wear contact lenses it’s really important that you also have a pair of glasses. It’s really important to avoid overwear of contact lenses, apart from your eyes becoming dry, sore and tired you run the risk of:

Infection
Inflammation
Ulcers
A very unpleasant condition called neovascularization. ( Caused by reduced oxygen to the eye)

So, if you like to wear contacts more than specs, really do try to remove them as soon as you are home, or have a contact lens free day wearing your specs every week. Your eyes will thank you for it.

We had a great afternoon on Friday attending a careers fair at Hagley Primary school with our sister practice. It was great to meet the children, many of whom already had a good idea of the jobs they wanted to do in the future. The children enjoyed talking about eye health and many were very keen to be a ‘patient’ to be scanned on our DEye scanner. Thanks to the children and staff for making us very welcome.
