School vision tests are not the same, and look for different issues. All children are entitled to a free eye test under 16 years of age.

Many parents think school screenings are the same as opticians’ eye tests, but that’s not true. A school screening is a basic test that checks whether your child has reduced vision in one or both eyes, and is not the same as a full eye test with an optometrist (or optician). 👁
