š Today is World Encephalitis Day
We join the global community in raising awareness for World Encephalitis Day, marked every year on 22 February. This important day highlights encephalitis: a serious inflammation of the brain that can affect people of any age and often appears without warning.
Despite its severity, awareness remains low, and early symptoms can easily be mistaken for more common illnesses. Recognising key warning signs early is essential for improving outcomes. Early diagnosis and urgent treatment can make a lifeāchanging difference. Today serves as a reminder of the importance of recognising symptoms promptly, supporting those affected, and encouraging wider community education.
This yearās campaign also highlights the F.L.A.M.E.S. acronym, a simple reminder of key symptoms everyone should be aware of.
