The by-elections for the SALTsoc committee are now open! If you are interested in being part of the team for this coming academic year, please nominate yourself!

I loved being a part of the committee last year as it was such a supportive environment to learn new skills and connect with others on the course.

Our story

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit our page. We are SALTSOC, the student led Speech and Language Therapy Society at Birmingham City University. We aim to provide our members with current knowledge of what is happening within the profession and within society. We have a host of different events, including awareness days, guest speakers and social events. There is something for everyone! If you would like to be a member and have access to our exclusive content, follow the instructions below.

To become a member of SALTSoc and get fantastic discounts off our events, follow these steps: 1. Click on this link https://www.bcusu.com/organisation/9448/ or go to the BCUSU website, click on 'societies', go to 'academic', find 'SALTSoc'. 2. When you are on SALTSoc's society page, click on the button 'Join' on the left hand side of the page with £3 membership stated above. 3. Your membership for SALTSoc will then be added to your basket, click on the basket icon at the top of the page on the right hand side. 4. Click the link below your membership that says 'Log in' and log into your account via the students portal using the log in details you would use for iCity on any device. 5. Click on the basket icon again and scroll down, click the link 'proceed to checkout'. 6. Follow the instructions and put in your debit/credit card details. 7. You are now a SALTSOC MEMBER woo!! Please note this membership runs until the end of the academic year (31st August).
