💙✨ Happy International Men’s Day! ✨💙

We celebrated with fun moustaches, pie, peas and a pint, a photo Wall of Appreciation, and even a visit from a Turkish barber for hot towel shaves and fresh haircuts.

💅✨ Pamper Time at Laurel Place! ✨💅

Our wonderful Healthcare Assistant got involved in a lovely pamper session with one of our service users this week. He helped her choose a nail colour and even painted her nails for her! 💖

It was a heartwarming moment of interaction and involvement — showing once again that a little bit of care and attention can make someone’s day better 💅🏻

🐶Therapy Dog Visit 🐾

Today we welcomed back Harry the therapy dog to Laurel Place and he did not disappoint!

He brought so many smiles, interaction and sparked emotional memories for the people we care for.

The staff were also head over heels for his sweet nature and calming effect the he brought to the home. We can’t wait to have him back again 🐶🦴

🌍 World Food Day at Laurel Place! 🍽️

Our talented Catering Manager Suzanne put together a wonderful spread of world dishes for our residents to enjoy! From sweet treats to savoury favourites, we sampled flavours from across the globe — and everyone loved trying something new. 💛

A big thank you to Suzanne and our kitchen team for making the day so delicious 👩‍🍳🌎✨

🎭Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal 🎭

We took a trip to the Theatre Royal in Newcastle to see Miss Saigon and it was an absolutely unforgettable evening for our resident who loves his musicals!

The show was incredible, and it was wonderful to see such joy and excitement throughout the night ✨ This is also a huge step into the community and social settings where confidence and life skills are continually gained.

We are already counting down to our next theatre trip to see Mary Poppins at the end of the month 🤩

Learning New Skills Through Music 🎸🎼

We love seeing residents try something new! One of our Health Care Assistants kindly brought in his guitar to share his passion and give a mini lesson. George had a great time having a go and learning a few chords - a wonderful way to bring music and meaningful skills into everyday life here at Laurel Place 💛

We will all be singing along in no time!

🎉🎂 Happy 76th Birthday Arthur! 🎂🎉

We had an Elvis themed celebration as we marked Arthur’s special day. His family joined us for presents, cards, reminiscing, and of course plenty of music and singing 🎶✨

Arthur even had his very own Elvis cake, cupcakes, and microphone in hand while rocking out in style! 🕶️🎤

As a special keepsake, people stopping by could add their own artwork to a birthday canvas - a wonderful memory of a day filled with fun and laughter 🎨💙

Happy Birthday Arthur – you really stole the show today! 👑🎵

Fitness at Laurel Place ⭐️👟

Every day is now fitness day at Laurel Place after receiving shiny new equipment!

We've already come up with challenges for staff to keep them motivated, fit, healthy, and focussed while at work 💪

Having a space where everyone including residents can stay active is an important part of wellbeing and self care ✅

In addition, Laurel Place now has two qualified personal trainers so there’s no excuse 😉👟

At Laurel Place, we’re so lucky to have such a dedicated housekeeping team who go above and beyond every single day. 💜 They make sure our home is always spotless, comfortable, and welcoming — giving our residents a beautiful, clean place to live.

To show our appreciation, we surprised them with some special gifts 🎁💐 A small token of thanks for the huge difference they make.
