I am offering a special deal on one of my treatments for the rest of this month to beat the January Blues.

A relaxing massage (full body or back, neck and shoulders), to ease aching muscles and improve blood flow. I will include Meridian tracing and Neurovascular reflex points in the treatment, practices used in Touch for Health Kinesiology to balance, re-energise and de-stress.

So if you fancy a luxury treatment to nourish your body and mind and leave you feeling amazing, then drop me a message or call.

The treatment is for one hour, at a discounted rate of £30 (usually £40), if you book before the end of January.

This little blighter is always involved if I get back ache, and is usually part of the problem with most of my back pain clients too.

The iliopsoas muscle attaches onto the transverse processes and vertebral discs of the lower back, it is your deepest 'core' muscle. The functions of the iliopsoas is complicated and still not totally known. The functions that we do know is it's the main hip flexor and it's an important stabiliser for the lower back.

If the iliopsoas is tight, this can create excess compression into the lower back as well as limit movement at the lower back/hip. When ever you're walking, squating or doing pelvic tilts your iliopsoas muscle is active.

Clinical tests such as the Thomas Test is a great way to assess the hip flexors of the body. In the Thomas Test we're looking for range and symmetry at the hips. If one iliopsoas is 'tighter' than the other this can cause pelvic rotation, influencing the mechanics of the pelvis and lower back.
