there is never a hard and fast rule in medicine and there are always nuances when it comes to testing but as a general rule if you feel like you are in Perimenopause you are in the right age group and you have symptoms then you do not need a blood test to prove this has often the bloods are extremely confusing because you are likely ovulating and they don’t tell the story of how you are feeling

If someone is taking bloods for hormones, it’s important they understand the variation in your hormones and how to interpret those results

You can also use the gels and creams with an applicator and insert into the vaginal cavity, there is also an oral tablet that can be swallowed to help dryness and symptoms.

get into the habit of checking your breast so you know what normal is for you and if you’re not sure come and tell us and we will help you work out whether or not any further action is required

mammograms in the UK start from the age of 50 but if you are experiencing problems with your breasts under the age of 50, you are not supposed to wait for the national screening. You are meant to come and talk to us
