Following the opening of the brand new £76.000 outdoor square at , which was partially funded by Bowls England and then funds raised locally, the Ted Haggerwood Memorial Open was held earlier this month. Daniel Robinson & Sons are proud to have supported the event by contributing the first prize and of course supplying our famous goody bags. Rob Hall from our South Street funeral home went along on the day and enjoyed meeting the teams taking part.

This week we were delighted to welcome Christin Greven from Zirbel Funeral Home in Groton, New York. Christin spent some time with Jonathan visiting our Harlow, Bishop's Stortford, and Old Harlow chapels, as well as a trip to and Parndon Wood Crematorium.

Christin said 'it's been a real joy to visit colleagues overseas to gain an insight into a different kind of funeral directing. The trip has been a real education for me, and it has been a wonderful to meet people who have a real passion for the profession'.

It a real pleasure to host Christin, we wish her a safe journey home.

Are you considering a final resting place for cremated remains in your care?
The beautiful Old Park Meadow is an ideal option. It is a haven for wildlife; graves and plots are cared for by nature's changing colours. Throughout the seasons there is an ever changing mix of wild flowers and tall grasses, take a moment to enjoy the calm when you view the video clip below... ❤

Match of the Day!
Sandy, from our Halstead office, attended the Coggeshall Town FC on Saturday 4th October and had a fantastic afternoon there. We had sponsored 'Man of the Match', and gave a great performance, only just losing out to Clapton Community FC, with the result coming in at 2-1.
Sandy had the honour to chose Man of the Match and presented Travis Richards with his (very heavy) prize!
Our thanks to Peter Smith, Club Secretary, who was a perfect host.

A visit to to see their valuable work in action...
Earlier this year we organised a Charity Football Match, raising £1,600 for St Clare Hospice. Luke, who led the organisation and delivery of the event, went along to meet the team at the Hospice and found out that the funds will be able to cover a week's worth of support on the Bereavement Helpline for local families, whether or not they have used the Hospice, as well as having funds to put towards some essential medical equipment.
Thank you to everyone who supported the game, you have made a real difference.
If you would like to find out more about bereavement support through the Hospice, please see the link below...
