We had an awesome time visiting the USA last month, particularly the country and western afternoon and the burgers 🍔

This month we are visiting the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 🇬🇧
The reason that we “stay at home” in November is so that we can honour this great country and remember those who lost their lives protecting our freedom.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

This is also a time for us to honour our own veterans ❤️

Poppies are available from reception, along with a collection tub for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

Hi all. Just for information, our residents have embarked on a world tour. Each month the residents choose the country which they would like to visit and we plan activities, menus and learning opportunities themed to that country.
This month the residents asked to visit China (you may have noticed the flags and other decorations).
We have enjoyed Chinese food; taken videos tours of china; had themed movie afternoons; made decorations and Chinese lanterns in the arts and crafts clubs and had really fun chopsticks competitions.
Next month we are ‘visiting’ the USA and will enjoy a Country & Western afternoon with music and dancing (amongst other themed activities).
We are posting this because the flag has been noticed and some eyebrows were raised, this is not political in the slightest, it’s simply the care home residents choosing their own activities and having some fun.

What a wonderful time we had this week for OLD GATES GOT TALENT!
Huge thanks to everyone who took part and those who came to support the event.
Special thanks and very well done to:
👏🏼 Kathleen for her lovely poem which she wrote and recited for us
👏🏼 Emily Jane who sang and performed beautifully and looked amazing in her jazzy outfit
👏🏼 Imogen and Brenda who gave us a fabulous rendition of Bad Romance
👏🏼 Kennedy who wowed us with her lovely voice - twice!

We had a fabulous day on Wednesday when Emily's Mini Farm came to visit again! We love the animals coming in and learning all about them. The goats were able to come inside and visit some of the residents who couldn’t make it out to the brilliant pens which Emily set up in the garden.
As it’s the school holidays we invited local children to call in to see the sheep, alpacas and goat too, it was great to have lots of little visitors as well as our furry friends! Here are a few photos…….
