For some people, symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) can feel more noticeable or harder to manage during the winter.

But small things can help:

🔵 Try some physical activity – anything that gets you moving
🔵 Make the most of natural light – getting outside or sitting near windows
🔵 Plan for tougher days – shifting stressful tasks or building in more rest

There’s also treatment available if you’re finding things really tough – such as light therapy, talking therapies or medication.

🟣In the NHS App do you know what we mean when we ask "are your notifications turned on", do you even know what a notifications is❓
🟣Notifications are messages from us, like appointment reminders or important health updates 📲
🟣All messages from North Shore Surgery will automatically go to the NHS App if you have an account. If these messages are missed, or unread after 1 hour they will then be resent as a text message. 👏
🟣 If you don't have the NHS App or an NHS account (why not- its a great one stop shop to access us, your GP surgery- to order prescriptions, view your medical record, contact us about requesting an appointment) then don't worry your messages will still go as a text message if we have your mobile number.📲

‼️To make sure you stay in the loop, here's how you can manage your notification preferences on the NHS App and then you can see your messages from us: ‼️
