Our Easter Raffle raised ยฃ105 for Firefly Cancer Awareness and Support ๐Ÿ’› - a local charity that supports people affected by cancer and provides free transport to treatment appointments.

This cause means a lot to our team, as some colleagues and their families have personally benefited from Fireflyโ€™s support.

Following feedback from a number of meetings we have attended with Patient Participation Groups (PPGs), we have set up a dedicated Rossendale Minor Injuries Unit page.

This page will be updated on a regular basis; it will include opening/closing times, a description of what we can see at the MIU, plus health education messages throughout the year.

We purchased and converted this single decker bus during the pandemic so that we could take our services out into the heart of our communities. It's been a great servant to FCMS and to the patients we've supported, but now it's time to start a new life somewhere new.

Bowel cancer is one of the UKโ€™s most common cancers, so this service is vital in helping people with learning disabilities who are less likely to complete their screening - meaning they often miss out on early detection.

Last year, we introduced a new doorbell system at the Doncaster Same Day Health Centre. This ensures Deaf and hard of hearing patients can easily gain entry when the centre is closed to the public โ€“ helping make our services more accessible for everyone.

This year, weโ€™re proud to support Sign Language Week 2026 with our friends Doncaster Deaf Trust The theme is United in Sign, and weโ€™re celebrating by learning to sign โ€œWelcome to Doncasterโ€ in British Sign Language.

FCMS is working with partners across the Fylde Coast, including Project K, to raise awareness of ketamine bladder and help clinicians recognise the symptoms earlier so that patients can access the right support.
