Coercive Control Awareness-Sat 7th March

Amplifying survivors voices is crucial for transforming responses to coercive control, the thread that runs through domestic abuse.

Sharing survivors stories, empowers women to feel heard, supported and not alone. Lived experiences, shares a deep insight on this abhorrent crime, raising vital awareness in the community.

⭐️Our Clothes-line project, created by survivors and female community groups will be displayed on Adelaide Street, Fleetwood FY76AD (next to BCD hub) for public viewing tomorrow (7th March)

⭐️Women in the community are standing together highlighting the devastating impact Coercive Control has on individuals.

A free fun workshop

We have just chatting to the wonderful Sharon Hartley from BBC Radio Lancashire about or exiting event happening on the
23rd April 7pm at the Barn in Scorton

We chatted about how successful the last event Blokes and Blooms was and how this was something that really inspired us to create another event.

It’s completely free and working in partnership with Andy’s man’s Club, Hazel Wilson and the Barn at Scorton.

No Lycra, leg warmers or sweat Bands required (although how fabulous would a class of men be in 80s style tight Lycra)

Coercive Control - the thread that runs through Domestic Abuse. Subtle, calculated tactics used to gain power and control over a partner.

It’s been a decade since this abhorrent crime was ruled out in England and Wales as a criminal offence, yet still very much minimised and misunderstood in society.

Perpetrators don’t have to physically hit you, in order for it to be domestic abuse.

Coercive Control is a form of domestic abuse which is just as damaging, if not worse. It’s long term impact is something not discussed enough. Perpetrators can also re surface years later, given the slightest gateway.
