Below is a statement that our client, Martin, has wrote himself about his needs and what he likes to do in his free time!
I am Martin Yates. I am outgoing, fun-loving disabled man living in the FY1 area with quite significant support needs which I will come back to later.
We are looking for a night worker for a minimum of 2 nights a week 8pm – 8am. This would usually be at weekend. I enjoy going out to see shows and going to the pub. As you can see on the pictures above, I enjoy getting out and about and a good drink with my support team. I also enjoy staying in watching TV and having a drink. I quite active within the community. I work alongside Baxter life care in a voluntary capacity as the equality, diversity and event manager which takes up quite a bit of my time. In terms of support, I need support transferring from my armchair to walk to the stair lift and stair lift to bed. All my drinks and meals must be prepared, and I need support with eating. I cannot hold a cup, but I use a straw to drink (I use reusable rubber tubing rather than metal or paper) I need support with all aspects of personal care e.g. getting dressed, being washed, toileting etc
More details will be provided in interview regarding my personal care. When I go out of the house I use a wheel chair which you would need to push.
