🔴It is routinely offered to babies (under 2) as part of the UK childhood immunisation schedule. It is not offered to all age groups under the NHS.

ᴄᴀɴ ᴏʟᴅᴇʀ ᴄʜɪʟᴅʀᴇɴ, ꜱᴛᴜᴅᴇɴᴛꜱ, ᴏʀ ᴀᴅᴜʟᴛꜱ ɢᴇᴛ ᴠᴀᴄᴄɪɴᴀᴛᴇᴅ?
🔴Yes, but usually not through the NHS, unless they have certain medical conditions that increase risk.

Some medical conditions increase the risk of severe infections. People who already have these conditions may need the MenB vaccine. The conditions include:
🔴Not having a spleen or having a spleen that does not work very well (including due to sickle cell and coeliac disease)
🔴Problems with the immune system (complement disorders)

If you are concerned, it is recommended that you speak to your GP for more information.

🔴The MenB vaccine is available privately through some pharmacies, travel clinics, and private GP practices. Costs vary.

📢 Surgery Closed – Protected Learning Time – Wednesday 4th March

On Wednesday, 4th March, the practice will be closed from 1:00pm for Protected Learning Time, training with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

🕗 The surgery will reopen as normal the following morning at 8:00am.

If you feel you urgently need to be seen that afternoon, please contact the surgery, and a member of our reception team will take some information from you. We will liaise with the GP Out of Hours service, who will support us during this time.

Please note: you must be willing to travel if you need to be seen.

Over the next two weeks, our staffing levels will be reduced due to planned GP annual leave. During this time, we will be prioritising urgent, same-day appointment requests to ensure patients with immediate health needs can still be seen safely.
As a result, from this Wednesday ( 17th December) our 1 week in advance appointments will not be available to book. We will still be offering 6 week in advance routine appointments. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient for some patients and would like to thank you for your understanding while we focus on providing safe care with limited staff.
If your problem is urgent, please contact the practice as usual. For non-urgent issues, we kindly ask that you book a 6 week advance appointment or contact us from Wednesday the 31st December at 10am, when 1 week in advance appointments become available again .
