Sometimes New Year's resolutions don't go our way for a lot of reasons...

Most people quit theirs just 9 days in!

Maybe it was just way harder than you thought.

Maybe something happened in your life and you were just totally overwhelmed.

Or maybe you've just taken your eye off the ball.

The excitement dropped, the plan was wrong, no one was keeping you accountable.

Coaching can change all that.

If you just want to look and feel awesome, you don't NEED to do any specific exercises.

A leg press is just as good as a squat if you want strong legs that look good.

Same as dumbell chest press and machine chest press.

These are interchangeable.

Every one of my clients gets a custom training plan but I also give options for when life happens.

If the gym is busy, if they've got a minor injury or not feeling great on a particular day.

You need to train muscles with effort, that's all that matters.

Whether you track your calories on My Fitness Pal or not, you're body logs every single calorie you consume.

So if you're not seeing the fat loss result you want, double down on your tracking.

Make sure it's as accurate as possible.

Because the ONLY way to know if you're in a deficit is if you are losing body fat over time.

You don't need to eat protein like a juiced up bodybuilder.

But I'm willing to bet you need to eat more than you do now.

Multiply your bodyweight in KG by 1.5 and aim to eat ABOUT that much in 2-4 meals a day.

You'll be fuller and lose fat way easier 👊

Artificial sweetners will not cause you anywhere near as much trouble as being 50lbs overweight and being inactive will.

Until a study fundamentally proves that 1-2 cans of diet coke/pepsi a day causes real health problems, I will stand by that.

I'm currently having 1 a day to curb my appetite and I'm down 10lbs since New Year.

My bloodwork was also fantastic.

Energy levels are great.

Let's not focus on the 1%.

Focus on the big rocks...

"Wow, I've come so far and my body has changed so much"

This is what Emily said to me this week.

Does the weight difference matter? Not really, but Emily has lost 10kg.

Not only that, she done her first ever press up.

My feedback this week was for her to put a weight plate on her back...because she can now do 10 full press ups.

We're now working on chin ups 💪

Transformation is more than just numbers on the scale.

It's who you become and what you become capable of.

The confidence you build.

The new found energy.

The belief in yourself that you can achieve more.

All of this was achieved with the basics done consistently.

No magic, just very honest work.

Emily decided it was time to make a change and took the hardest step by reaching out to me.

It took me a while to learn the difference between coaching and cheerleading.

Don't get me wrong, I still celebrate all of my clients wins no matter how big or small.

I want working with me to be one of the most positive experiences of someone's life.

But I also need to hold my clients accountable and call them out from time to time.

Otherwise, they won't progress or get the results they signed up for.

My job is to first find out WHY they haven't stuck to the plan and dig a little deeper.

Sometimes that's an uncomfortable conversation.

But that's where real change happens.

It's needed.

Once we're both on the same page, we can always make changes to keep moving forward.

But we can't just brush things under the carpet and pretend it's going to work out.

1:1 coaching is the highest level of service I offer.

As it stands I have space for 1 online client.

You've got to stop letting daily changes on the scale ruin your day.

You will never, and I mean NEVER, be one weight for the rest of your life.

So track your fat loss the right way.

Look at your weekly averages.

And isn't the point in all this to look and feel great?

Weight gives us a good idea of fat loss progress.

But do you really believe the key to eternal happiness is weighing "X" on a scale?

Every day, I'm working toward becoming the man I want to be.

I'm not perfect, I feel like I mess up a lot.

But every decision I make is geared toward being the best Dad I can be.

Truthfully, I probably worry too much and put too much pressure on myself.

But I don't know how to do it any other way.

Hats off to all the Dad's doing the same, tired, stressed, whatever.
