✨ For the women who refuse to be dismissed… ✨

Today, I’m holding this certificate with a full heart! It’s not because of the qualification itself, but because of what (and who) it represents.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside so many women who were told their symptoms were “just ageing,” “just stress,” or “just part of being a woman.”

But you knew something wasn’t right.

You listened to your body.

You kept asking questions.

You kept pushing for answers.

YOU are the reason I continue to learn.

You are the reason I completed the British Menopause Society’s Management of the Menopause Certificate and over 40 hours of extra learning and assessments, so I can meet your courage with knowledge, and offer care worthy of the women who show up for themselves every single day.

Menopause isn’t a weakness, or an ending.
It’s a powerful transition and one you deserve to move through with clarity, dignity, and support.

To the women who are tired but keep advocating…

To the women who are juggling work, family, identity, and their changing bodies…

To the women who felt unheard, yet came anyway…

How cool is this!! This is why I love being in medicine.

Histotripsy doesn’t physically dislodge or scatter intact tumour cells.
The mechanical forces are so intense that cells are literally disintegrated into subcellular debris, not just broken off in chunks.

• Preclinical studies (e.g., in liver and kidney cancer models) show no increase in metastasis or tumour seeding. In fact, several studies suggest the opposite:
• The immune system seems to recognise the cellular debris and mounts an anti-tumour immune response, sometimes even helping to clear nearby or distant tumour cells (an “abscopal” effect).
• Histotripsy-treated animals have shown reduced metastasis compared with untreated controls.
• No live cells are seen histologically after treatment within the ablated zone unlike some older thermal or mechanical methods that can leave margins of viable cells.
