Today as a home staff,residents and professionals visiting observed 2 minutes silence in Remberance of fallen soldiers and as sign of respect soldiers currently served or have previously served in Armed Services.

The residents benefited from intergenerational visit last week and really enjoyed themselves along side the kids dancing and playing👶🧒
We started off with local singer Steve Murther before having party games and food..
Well done team for all your effort, it really doesnt go unnoticed..🩵🩷

Today weve been to Mind Active Activity Day at the Salvation Army Hall in Bedlington.
Pie and peas followed with banana cake and cream and copius amounts of tea and coffee..
Singer Andy McGowan entertained guests with his singing..🎤🎶
We've had a fab afternoon doing the quiz and dancing too..💃💃
Thanks again Mind Active for having us we'll see you next month for the Xmas Party.

Congratulations to our Head Chef Sandra Oram who has done 15 years service here at The Oaks.
Starting off as night carer and working her way up to head chef.👩‍🍳
In Sandra's own words.. "A lot has happened over 15years, good times and bad time taking the ups and downs but wouldn't change a thing.. I worked with some of most amazing staff and management, so here to the next 15 years"

They dined on fish and chips followed by creamy rice pudding with beer shandy to wash it down..

We've sang along and even found we've got some good dancers among us..💃💃
