πβοΈWhat a beautiful morning to go and visit the young adults at THINK18!
These session's are about giving them the time and space to express and explore their emotions through dance and movement. Normalising the communication of emotions is so important for supporting mental health and wellbeing.
π Normalising involves confirming that emotional experiences make sense within a person's context.
πSpeaking feelings out loud (e.g., "I feel overwhelmed") or expressing them through movement engages the brain's capacity to reevaluate the situation, reducing distress.
πOpenly discussing or sharing mental health helps break down barriers, creating an environment where asking for help is accepted, not feared.
π It strengthens relationships and fosters emotional intelligence, helping people differentiate daily emotional fluctuations from serious mental health issues.
πActively listening without judgment and using open-ended questions creates a safe space for vulnerability.
