This week, we had the honour of accompanying a much‑loved lady on her final journey with a horse‑drawn cortege, making our way gently along the country lanes to St Andrew’s Church.

The first signs of spring felt especially symbolic, a quiet reminder of renewal, hope, and the beauty that surrounds us, even in times of farewell. 🌼🐴

One of the questions we’re most often asked is: “What can we do with our loved one’s ashes after the funeral?”

On 6th February 2006 Matt Smart joined our company, and this year he will be celebrating an incredible 20 years with us.🙌

Matt began his journey as a bearer before progressing to the role of Funeral Director, and throughout his career he has cared for countless families with compassion and dedication.

His positivity, sharp wit, and brilliant sense of humour have always brought laughter to our team. Congratulations Matt, and thank you for being such a pleasure to work with.👏

Yesterday, we were honoured to conduct the funeral of Pete Keogh.

Pete passed away peacefully on 17th December 2025, aged 81 years. Devoted husband to Sandra and a much-loved father of Nadine.

His family wished for the day to be a true celebration, one that reflected his vibrant, Zest for Life personality. The procession included an outrider with a horse‑drawn carriage, the sound of bagpipes to play Pete into the chapel, an opera performance, and a ball gown and tuxedo dress code to capture the signature style Pete was so well known for.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.❤️

Flashback Friday✨

Pictured is Samuel Reynolds (top left), our founder, and his wife Eliza. Together they raised 11 children, though sadly four died in childhood, several went on to join the family business.

Samuel died in 1897, aged 49, after a long illness. Eliza then took over the business until her death in 1912, when it passed to their children Charles, Frank and Maud.

Six generations on, the Reynolds family business continues. The funeral department is now led by James and Stephen Reynolds (5th generation), with Stephen’s daughter, Rebecca Reynolds (6th generation), also involved in the business.

Family values have shaped Reynolds from the beginning and continue to guide everything we do.🩶
