Flashback Friday✨

Pictured is Samuel Reynolds (top left), our founder, and his wife Eliza. Together they raised 11 children, though sadly four died in childhood, several went on to join the family business.

Samuel died in 1897, aged 49, after a long illness. Eliza then took over the business until her death in 1912, when it passed to their children Charles, Frank and Maud.

Six generations on, the Reynolds family business continues. The funeral department is now led by James and Stephen Reynolds (5th generation), with Stephen’s daughter, Rebecca Reynolds (6th generation), also involved in the business.

Family values have shaped Reynolds from the beginning and continue to guide everything we do.🩶

We are looking for a Full-Time Funeral Service Operative to provide dignified and caring support to families during their most difficult times.

What’s involved?
✅ Duties include Chauffeur/Bearer responsibilities
✅ Participation in all aspects of the trade
✅ Out-of-hours duty rota (including some weekends)

What we’re looking for:
✔ Local applicant with a clean driving licence
✔ Smart appearance and caring nature
✔ Professional and respectful at all times

Last week, we had the privilege of arranging a beautiful farewell for Barbara Walmsley. Her family chose a traditional horse-drawn carriage, a timeless tribute adding a sense of dignity and elegance🖤

Matt and his team were, professional , kind, respectful and also added appropriate humour …

I cannot thank Matt enough and the staff who welcomed me on my many visits … the chapel of rest, with lit candles was peaceful and welcoming , warm and cosy and Matt and staff did all we asked. I couldn’t have asked for more.

The day itself was so smooth, we had the most amazing horses and carriage , and the service at the Arun crematorium was wonderful too'
