Winter has a way of slowing us down, whether we give ourselves permission or not.
But so many people tell me the same thing this time of year:
“I’m tired… but I feel guilty resting.”

Somewhere along the way, rest became something we think we have to earn.
But your body doesn’t work like that — especially in winter.

When the days are shorter, your system naturally shifts into a quieter rhythm.

Winter lands differently for all of us — some people love the cosy evenings and slower pace, while others feel the weight of darker days, busier schedules and that underlying sense of exhaustion that seems to creep in from nowhere.

And this is the time of year when the internet floods you with “self-care tips” that sound lovely but don’t actually help when your nervous system is running on fumes. So let’s talk about winter self-care that actually supports your body, your energy and your emotional wellbeing.

Here are the things that make the real difference:

✨ Warm therapies that soothe instantly
When your body is cold or tense, your nervous system goes into protection mode without you even realising. Warmth — whether through treatments, sound healing, blankets or baths — signals safety to your whole system. It’s often the quickest route to grounding.

✨ Deep belly breathing before bed
No fancy breathwork. No 20-minute practices. Just slow, intentional breaths into your belly to calm the mind and tell your body it’s okay to switch off. This alone can improve sleep massively in the winter months.

✨ Reducing stimulation in the evenings
