Yesterday our lovely Front of House Manager Chrissy had the pleasure of joining the Bognor Parkinson’s Support Group this morning to share the wonderful community events we host here at Bradshaw Lodge Care Home 💛
It was so nice to meet the dedicated volunteers and families and to spend time connecting with everyone.
We are proud to open our doors and welcome members of our local community to join us for:
☕ Tea & Cake Tuesday – 10:30am–11:45am
🧀 Warm & Toastie Wednesday – 11:30am–1:00pm
🎬 Film Friday – 2:00pm–4:00pm (Please book in advance)
🍽️ Sit & Share Sunday Lunch – 12:30pm (Please book in advance)

Did you know we have our very own birdwatching hide? 🐦🌿

It’s one of the most peaceful spots in our home — a little haven where residents and staff can sit together, listen to birdsong, and enjoy the beauty of nature right on our doorstep.

There’s something so special about watching the seasons change, spotting familiar feathered visitors, and sharing those quiet moments that make you pause and smile. It’s a gentle reminder to slow down and appreciate the little things in life.

We’re so lucky to have this space to connect, reflect, and simply enjoy being outdoors together 💚

We believe strongly in creation and letting our minds be artistic… and that meant our latest creations making dragonflies 🐉✨

There’s something magical about taking simple materials and turning them into something beautiful. Snipping, gluing, painting, laughing — and suddenly you’ve got bright, colorful dragonflies ready to “fly.”

Creating isn’t just about crafts. It’s about:
🌈 Letting imagination lead
🧠 Strengthening our minds
💛 Expressing who we are
✨ Finding joy in the little things

When we allow ourselves to be artistic, we build confidence, spark creativity, and make memories that last way longer than the glue drying on the table 😉

Our residents and staff had an absolutely fantastic time enjoying lunch out at The Robin Hood today! There were full plates ( which turned to empty plates ) , happy faces, lots of laughter, and even more great conversation. 🥰

Nothing beats sharing delicious food and wonderful moments together. Here’s to many more outings like this! 💛

💃✨ What a Morning We’ve Had! ✨💃

This morning was full of energy, smiles, and movement as we enjoyed Dance with Sarah! Our residents took part in a wonderful interactive physical dance session, and what a fantastic time we had! 🎶🕺

There’s nothing better than seeing everyone moving, laughing, and feeling the rhythm together.

🌟 The Benefits of Dance for Older Adults:
✔️ Improves balance and coordination (helping to reduce falls)
✔️ Strengthens muscles and supports joint mobility
✔️ Boosts heart health and circulation
✔️ Enhances memory and cognitive function
✔️ Lifts mood and reduces stress

What a truly wonderful day we had! 💛

We were delighted to welcome Andrew and Elaine from "Sax to Relax" for a very special visit. Their beautiful music filled the room and brought so much joy to everyone. There were smiles, a few happy tears, and so many precious memories shared.

It was heartwarming to see how music can spark connection, reflection, and happiness all at once. Thank you, Andrew and Elaine, for giving us such a meaningful and memorable experience — we can’t wait to have you back! 🎷✨

What a sweet surprise to kick off the morning — and honestly, is there any better kind of surprise than chocolate?! 🍫✨

Massive thank you to our amazing Regional Team and Managing Director for absolutely spoiling us with these choccies. You’ve officially made our day!

We are thoroughly enjoying the sunshine today — it’s been so long we almost forgot what it looked like! 😄

It’s been a busy time here, but we decided to brighten things up even more with a little flower arranging. 🌼🌿 If summer won’t hurry up, we’ll just make our own!

Our space is now full of colour, fresh blooms, and happy vibes — and we are very much looking forward to welcoming summer properly 💛🌷

🦆 What a Week for Wildlife! 🐦

Following yesterday’s surprise duck visit, we were treated to another wonderful wildlife moment here in our gardens!

Our fantastic Maintenance Manager, Jez, delivered an engaging and informative presentation all about the beautiful birds that call our gardens home. From garden favourites to some more unusual visitors, it was a joy to learn more about the feathered friends we see every day.

Even better, many of these birds are enjoying the feeders that Jez thoughtfully made together with our residents — a lovely example of teamwork and community spirit in action.

Who knew our gardens were such a haven for wildlife? 🌿✨

Today we welcomed some very important (and very fluffy) visitors to our care home… 🦆
A delightful couple of ducks stopped by to brighten everyone’s day — and they certainly understood their role in community engagement!
We enjoyed:
• Front-row seats to some very confident waddling
• A live “quack performance”
• Gentle feathered cuddles and plenty of smiles
The ducks demonstrated excellent teamwork, strong communication skills, and impressive snack-detection abilities. We’re currently reviewing their applications for permanent residency. 📝✨
On a more serious note, moments like these remind us how powerful simple experiences can be. Animal visits bring joy, spark conversation, and create meaningful connections for our residents.
